94 Tasting Notes
I’ve been using this for awhile as added to Earl Grey, but I figured I might as well try it by itself. I used not too hot water, but also not much leaf. The result was drinkable and it didn’t have a bad flavor, just not one to grab me and say drink more. I’m wondering if maybe it was lacking in flavor, but then the flavor that I had wasn’t all that much to shout about. I suppose I’ll have to experiment some more to see if I can get the essence of this tea to come out better.
It’s not as potent as I thought it would be. The tea leaves filled out the cup nicely, but the first cup was astringent and the second was flavorless. I think I may have used water that was too hot, so I’ll try a lower temperature next time to see if I get better results.
By the way, does anyone know if this is also called qiu cha, or autumn tea? I bought some by this name before, and they look and taste similar.
