Made this at lunch and drinking the cold remnants.
I was agitated this morning, thanks to issues concerning my major. Chamomile seems to relax me when I’m in that state, but I definitely need to be in the mood—I don’t usually care for chamomile. I like the blend of herbs in it, giving sweet undertones.
I had a bad morning—nothing was going my way, and it’s raining like crazy again. Student activities sponsored a tea bar (free travel mug!) in the student center today, which really made my day. At the suggestion of a friend, I chose this one, and it helped me relax. The rose and spearmint complement the chamomile nicely—I usually don’t care for the herb by itself, unless I am really in the mood for it.
At arranging, I realized I’d made yet another mistake on the assignment I’d just turned in, but I’ve done well in the class otherwise. The chamomile said to shrug it off.
I went to Starbucks on my way to my sisters to fix her computer. I was sick on a cold winters day and need aid in this trek. Ginger is good for your health as green tea. So I made a purchase and headed on my way. I did add a packet or two of honey to it before leaving (later I tried it without). It soothed my soar throat and warmed me up. I enjoyed it so much I continued to drink it through the winter.
The flavor of the liquor was not bold (the ginger) but pleasant to the pallet. The liquor has a nice color of a golden pear.
Preparation
Peppermint tea with a bit of a kick in the form of additional fragrant herbs such as tarragon. May be overwhelmed by most kinds of food, so probably best consumed on its own, but works well for late nights when caffeine is out and a little mood boost would be more than welcome.
I drink it with pizza! So there you go: subtle, no. The orange really is over the top, and the liquorice is actually pronounced to the degree it lingers on the tongue. Not re-steepable, incidentally. But good with pizza.
Preparation
Y’know, I love that you said that. I had pizza for breakfast and I like drinking tea for a caffeine kick without the coffee, but I can’t drink tea with pizza. Pizza is like one of my food markers on the drink-o-meter. I have to have a mucho strong flavored drink with pizza or it all tastes wrong. I’m just glad someone else uses pizza on their drink meter.
No notes yet. Add one?
Preparation
That’s my poison of choice as well at Starbucks, though I’m hardly in there anymore. I might have to pick up some syrup and make some myself now that you’ve put this up here. Sweet.
Haha, do you know what syrup they replaced melon with? I’m guessing they are using classic now? I still have a bottle of melon left and then I’ll be out =(
No, I’ll have to ask next time I’m in, which might not be for a while. This is a maybe spring mostly summer drink for me anyhow.
I order their iced-tea lemonades on a pretty routine basis – they’re cheaper than most of their other drinks. My favorite is the green tea one though.
I’ve ordered their passion lemonade, but I prefer unsweetened ginger green lemonade. I tell them to use as many tea bags as they would for a regular iced tea. (2 for a tall, 3 for a grande and 4 for a grande). The exception to the unsweetened part is during the holidays when they have gingerbread syrup.- I don’t add lemonade to that though. Funny we went to Starbucks on the same day!:)
@takgoti, Agreed. I usually get this drink or fraps in the summer, but I was staring at the menu for a while. I really couldn’t decide what I wanted. Actually I just realized I could have bought a Vanilla Rooibos Latte or a some loose tea bag. They have satchels now! WohOooO =)
@Jillian, really? You like the green tea lemonade the best? I tried it once and I didn’t like it. My green tea lemonade always comes out really bitter. I guess the green tea doesn’t subdue the lemonade enough for me. I like the black tea lemonade actually. I usually get that over passion, because I find passion to be tooooooo sweet.
@Cofftea, unsweetened is a no no for me. I’ve tried it a few times, but cold drinks need to be cold for me. I love their green ginger tea hot.
It’s just a matter of preference. I like hot drinks to be natural and cold drinks to be sweet. I mean you’d never drink juice hot.
Ok gotcha. That isn’t what you said. You said “Cold drinks need to be cold for me”. And I thought, “Well duh”. So I thought you meant it like how I don’t like cold pizza. It starts hot so it should stay hot. I can’t stand this one hot, it burns my throat.
@Ricky: They must be making yours wrong because it’s not bitter at all to me, but it has a rather clean sort of taste to it. Maybe they just add more syrup at my Starbucks! :D
I really enjoy this concentrate. I’m not a big fan of powdered chai mixes. This is very good as a dirty chai latte (coffee, chai, milk).
