361 Tasting Notes
Now this is a good tea. Really good. I don’t tend to like fruity teas, in fact, I generally avoid them. I got this because I needed one more for my ocho sample so I threw this one in. The only way I can describe this is in terms of Jelly beans. But this isn’t an overly sweet tea. Just sweet enough. It tastes as though I have both a juicy pear jelly bean and a cinnamon jelly bean in my mouth. And those happen to be 2 of my 3 favorites (the other being the popcorn jelly bean—anybody found a tea for that one?). I will definitely be re-ordering this. So far I’ve really liked 3 out of 4 of the joy’s teaspoon teas. Not bad!
@sil, you’ve never had this one? They have an awesome choose your own sampler deal. Not sure about the shipping to canada though. Worth a try if they do!
Thanks to QueenOfTarts for this yummy sample. At first I wasn’t overly impressed, but as it cooled the buttery cookieness emerged and I really enjoyed this tea. I’m already craving more! I also like that it’s a strong tea first and then a cookie. I love Pineapple upside down cake, but it’s more of a (delicious) liquified cake. Perfect for when I want something sweet and don’t need much caffeine. Cookie tea is a strong morning tea for when I don’t want anything too sweet yet and want a strong cup of black tea.
I just got the shipping confirmation from Della Terra that my big bag of this is on its way so I felt safe finishing off my sample pouch. There was a little extra in the bag so I threw it all in. Extra cakey tonight. So good.
Thanks Stacy for including this sample in my order! I’ve only ever had this tea as the base for the caramel vanilla assam. Now that i’ve had it I can totally pick out the flavor from the blend, but it is fantastic on its own as well. Very smooth, no astringency, could totally be an every day tea. Glad I finally tried this one!
Took a break from going through samples to have something I knew I’d love. And I do. Sometimes I get super excited about a tea after one mugfull, then I order a big bag thinking I’ll want to drink it all the time. Then the big bag arrives and I make a cup and its not nearly mindblowing as it was as a sample. And I’m stuck with big bag of it. Not the case here.
I felt like playing with this one today. I added just a smidge of brown sugar. I’m really loving good old brown sugar (not the rocks, just plain brown sugar) in my teas right now, especially for caramelly or bake-y teas. Plus a splash of my kids whole milk. It tastes like creamy caramel butter. I feel bad for whatever tea I try next.
I’m at Tony’s house, really wishing I’d brought some of this tea with me. I know what you’re saying about samples vs bulk. I ordered 4oz (which is very rare for me now), & then had that thought, but I felt sure Stacy wouldn’t let us down. When the box arrived, the first thing I did was open the bag of this tea & breath in, LOL. Then I transferred the tea to an airtight tin (recycled) that was eagerly awaiting it’s companionship. It’s such a comforting tea, I may not be in there for long! Hopefully Stacy will keep this one on her menu forever!
I’m trying to get through some of my samples that I haven’t tried yet. This one has been sitting in the drawer ever since I got it from Alphakitty since it smelled smokey. I’m not a fan of smokey at all, but I need to make room in my sample drawer so I brewed it up.
It’s a little smokey, almost fruity. Definitely not peanut butter-y. For a slightly smokey tea I found it almost tolerable. But I can’t say enjoyable.
Thanks for letting me try it Alphakitty!
