361 Tasting Notes
Woah! I like this! I actually prefer the straight Tisano cacao over the herbal infusions one, maybe cause I overleaf that one like mad since I can get it free overnight on amazon (Herbal infusions seems to take awhile). BUT… I definitely prefer this mint cacao over the Tisano one. That one is wayyyyyyyyy too minty. This one is perfect! Just enough mint to give a nice flavor but not enough to drown out the chocolate. A nice after dinner treat. I dumped my whole sample into the mug as I like to seriously overleaf the cacao teas. Glad I did. Very full and rich.
This is one of the 10 samples for $10 that the tea setter sent me (free shipping too!) I made this as my stomach isn’t feeling great and I wanted a nice puer to warm it up. This one didn’t have much of a fragrance, which surprised me given its name, but once brewed it is definitely the sweetest puer I’ve had. Very enjoyable. Not the bready kind, very mild, tough to describe except sweet. A good one for beginners like me!
I just finished off my sample bag of this and this one really grew on me. It was pretty good the first time I had it, but after this last cup I really wanted more and my sample was gone, so I guess that means I’ll have to reorder it some day! For now I’m using a variety of teas I have a ton of and making something similar, but it’s not as good. But not bad… (fyi.. I’m mixing upton’s creme caramel and american tea room’s masala chai – both of which I bought in an absurd quantity before I knew any better)
I’m not sure if this is the right listing or not, but it’s a jin jun mei from ken lee, so… probably?
So… all fun times must come to end. My husband went to the store to pick up a few things and on reentry to our drive way, somehow hit a big pipe and we sprung a massive outdoor water leak. There is now an ice rink in the street in front of our house. My husband isn’t alway so calm in these situations so it was a bit, how should i put it, um, yeah, it was loud.
I thought at least it was outside not inside, so there’s that! Anyway, it took about 20 minutes of digging in the snow to find the water shut off for that area. The water is no long flowing into the street. I’m now inside, taking some deep breaths, drinking this tea, and playing play doh.
I like this tea. Very grainy and chocolaty. Glad it was my post crazy water pipe breaking tea.Now back to enjoying the snow. Please. No more craziness!
Glad you found the shut off what a nightmare! We’ve been having a real winter this year, ranging from the ice storm and kids skating on the street, to so much snow people were cross country skiing on the sidewalks. My cousin’s happy they have a huge backyard and like to put out an almost NHL standard rink in the back. Glad you like the tea the other one has more of a reddish tip and is more caramelly/ corn syrupy.
Starting the day with this. I know I should be getting through some of my older teas, but I got a big bag of this and it was staring at me this morning and I couldn’t get it to look away.
I’ll start going through the others in a bit, for now I’m savoring this one. It’s not a bold breakfast tea, but it’s a nice start to a snowy saturday.
Started snowing again! I think we have a few more inches coming! Made a big mug of this as it’s got such a natural sweet and spice warming character to it. Yum!
I posted a few kid snow photos and a slow motion video of the hummingbirds battling over the feeder on my rarely updated blog. Feel free to check it out here:
