165 Tasting Notes
Well, the Easter bunny came early this year and brought me the Spring collection! When I found it sitting on my bed, I immediately opened it and smelled all of the teas. This was the first one that I decided to try. The smell is really fruity and I found that the mango really dominated this tea over the pomegranate (this was a little disapointing as mango and pomegranate are 2 of my favourite fruits so I was hoping to taste them both in this tea). This tea however, is more sour than the other teas that they have with mango in them such as Mango Madness and even Mango Diablo; I attributed that to the pomegranate. Overall, this was a nice steep and I will be going back to it from time to time.
Wow, this smelled wayyyy better in the store! When I get home, I always like to smell my teas. I find it funny how they always smell so different than when they are in the store. Anyway, from the smell of this tea, I could already detect a bitter note aswell as a lighter, lemony taste from the lemon grass. Those flavours really do come through in the tea once it is steeped but I have yet to decide whether or not this is a good thing…This is one that I can’t picture myself wanting to drink all the time but, as the tea did claim, it definetely gave me a bit of a pick-me-up! I felt really fresh once I was done my cup…I can definetely see why they chose to name it detox. For this rating, please note that I am ONLY marking it on taste.
Not my cup of tea…In the store, it smelled really fruity and tropical but I really didnt like the smell when I got home. When I got home, I was hit by an overwhelming scent of hibiscus and cinnamon. When steeped, it smells alot like alpine punch (which I hated!). This one is more bearable than alpine punch though, I still find myself dreading every sip. I would agree with the other comments about it being better iced. I’m letting it cool down and already, less hibicus and more berries. I’m glad I only picked up about 10g…I’m glad I trieed it but definetely will not be getting any more of this one.
This one was quite interesting. The smell, although it says natural vanilla flavouring, smells quite artificial…I thought that it smelled like vanilla yogurt (I knew it would be quite creamy). When steeped, it was really creamy (I knew it!) and it had only a light vanilla smell. For me, the vanilla really came out in the aftertaste and not in the actual sip. I like this enough to finish the 15g bag but not enough to go buy more.
I was really excited to taste this one after the woman who was working there went on about it! The smell was quite nice…very citrusy! Yet, when steeped, it really missed the mark for me in terms of both taste and smell. I really didn’t taste any of the fruit…more of a merky green tea. I’m glad I only got 10g because I wont be trying this one again.
I had this one as a cup to-go today with just a touch of agave. This was my first time trying this one and they did a great job naming it…it sure is sweet! I find that it tastes almost artificially sweet, kind-of like those strawberry candies. With that said, I would drink it again but I dont like it enough to buy any (especially for the price of white teas).
Wow! This one really surprised me…I was really unsure about the taste. I thought that it would be like some awful cold medicine but, to my surprise, it was quite bearable! The peppermint is definetely at the forefront with the other ingredients lingering in the aftertaste. I was happy to be using a herbal remedy to my cold symptoms! Although it was temporary relief, it was relief nevertheless…definetely cleared out the sinuses. The first brew was really flavourful. I did get a second brew but the flavour was significantly diminished (still got the relief though)
I was so excited for this one to come out! I love coconut, lemon and thai flavours. I went in today for a visit and had a sample of this. This was really good. Unlike in many other teas, the coconut does not simply add a creamy texture but rather, it does add to the flavour. This was also really light, as it has a white tea base, this was expected.
I was really excited to try this when I saw that there was pomegranate in this! I tried this as a cup to-go today. The smell was really appealing…fruity but also savoury. It was really well balanced and the flavours did not seem to be competing. The fruityness came out but also, allowed the base to shine through. I managed to get a double-brew out of this, not as strong as the first but still really good and definetely drinkable. I would definetely have this again!
This was yet another reccomendation made by an employee. I was rather skeptical about this one as I am not the biggest fan of the bold flavours. This one really suprised me. The initial taste is quite bold but as it lingers, it almost becomes more spicy as it looses the initial flavour. I only picked up 10g and I can’t see myself stocking up on this one but I would definetely have another cup!
