60 Tasting Notes
Cavocorax sent me a sample of this to try :D I was hoping to compare it to DT’s Chocolate Orange pu’erh which I hadn’t enjoyed at all because of the earthy/fishy taste. :S
Steeped 5 minutes and tried it unsweetened. I taste a lot of orange but not so much the chocolate. It’s still really nice though, although a bit weak? I wouldn’t want to add cream to this because then it would taste like nothing, but I do like it. :D
Preparation
Too bad this one didn’t work out for you, but that’s how I felt too. I was hoping to blame my travel mug…
It’s still nice! It’s just not very strong! Maybe it’s just a combination that doesn’t work as well in tea!
Try a longer infusion? I forgot about this one while brewing it, so it probably got 6-7 mins, and I was impressed! Also, perhaps be sure not to underleaf. If anything, overleaf a little (2 tsp per 8 oz).
Yup, this one again. I added waaay too much cream but didn’t want to let the cup go to waste. Even weak you still can taste that lovely chocolatey goodness.
Now I’m afraid I’m cheating and going with something a bit stronger for a Friday night — hot chocolate with Baileys irish creme. Shhh…
The wonderful Cavocorax sent me some of this to try, and so I was very excited to make a cup of it tonight; it’s so rainy and cold out. (Still no snow here, though!) First taste: hnnnnng chocolate. It’s sooo chocolatey and vanilla-y and yes I am making these adjectives because I can.
Definitely one of my favourites. _ I will totally be ordering some with my next DT order~
Preparation
Okay so this is one of those teas where you can’t really get more than one steep out of it? It’s been steeping for about 7 minutes now and it’s only a very very very light amber colour. Welp. On the other hand, that means I might make it though the tin a bit quicker.
Btw, drinking this in my new Weeping Angel mug which my BFF Sam gave me for Christmas tonight!
Took this in to the girls at work this week since I had no luck myself. From reading reviews on the boards it seems pu-erh often has a fishy scent, and that’s why it smelled/tasted so off. I think I might make a new cup and do the rinsing method suggested to see if that helps! :D
oh goodness i WISH you loved this tea as much as i do. i brought it to work today, and yesterday, and the day before that, and i’m gonna have some soon!
the word ‘fishy’ never even crosses my mind a little! but i do have a poor sense of smell i’ll admit.
and if you rinse it all the chocolate will go away!! oh noooooooooooo
Had a cup this morning at work. God why am I such a sucker for earl grey blends.
I love that you have those Doctor Who fandom blends!!! :O I was tempted, especially by the pretty tins, but couldn’t really justify it… :|
i have to admit, i have over 20 other teas but the Adagio Blends that i have do tend to stand out in my collection.
I’m really glad I gave this one another try — I steeped it for longer and now I get more of the blackberry. Still no vanilla though. :/ Added a drop of stevia to sweeten and it’s a lot tastier than my first attempt.
