255 Tasting Notes
Second slice of pie this morning, second steep of this tea.
It is surprisingly richer in flavor than the first steep, which makes me wonder why that is, as it is the same tea leaves from the first steep.
The pumpkin and spices are brighter, the pie flavor is more prominent.
It’s strange, but I like odd surprises.
Preparation
OK, so I accepted that this tea will not be as spicy as your typical chai. Upon that, this is quite a tea to start your morning. Despite the increasing loss of spice and pie flavor, the pumpkin has kept it’s consistency in every steep, making this acceptable.
Preparation
The creamy flavor of pie has come into its own now that it has been steeped more in a more open space, I feel the taste has time to breathe as it is cooling, and stays consistent throughout the glass.
Something special I might add, as I finish the first cup, the last few sips reward me with a sweet and buttery flavor.
This tea is fantastic!
Preparation
I’m really liking steeping this tea in a smaller cup, the creamy flavor is stronger and lasts longer, and I think because it has more room to breathe, the coconut is brighter as well.
I find I am drinking this a lot, so I really should buy more of this amazing blend.
Preparation
Steeped in a smaller cup, I usually steep in my Teavana 16oz travel tumbler but it shattered so I am forced to make smaller amounts in smaller equipment until my goto is replaced.
Smaller seems to bring out more of the creamy flavor of this tea, and also seems to blend the subtle coconut really well.
I’m kind of wanting to make this into a latte with whipped cream to see how it would taste.
Preparation
When we had the tea bar, we sold this one a lot as an iced tea latte. It’s REALLY good that way. I’m glad you are enjoying our teas.
This tea is surprisingly spicy. From the aroma opening the bag to sipping, I can taste the prominent cloves and cinnamon.
The pumpkin is a subtle and smooth underlying flavor over the black tea, complimenting the taste instead of feeling overwhelmed by the spices.
This is a great tea, very surprising as I was expecting a typical pumpkin pie flavor.
