377 Tasting Notes
Thank you to Ellen for sending me this. First trying this I must say that I didn’t care for it, and it tasted like clorinated water. However I’m trying it again at the office where we have a filtered hot water dispenser. The leaves themselves smell floral and sweet. This is my first formosa type oolong. First and second cup strong floral flavor like Ti Kuan Yins I have tried. Maybe a little perfumey. Overall not a bad Oolong, but looking at the price for it on the website. I don’t think I would order this one for regular drinking.
I was in Whole foods the other day and they carry this so I thought I would give it a try. This is my first experience with Guayusa. I was a little bit pensive because straight Mate is a taste that I would say is aquired, but I’ll try just about anything once. My first thoughts are a little vegetal like green beans. The mint is very good. I could drink this daily. Of course now I want to educate myself on Guayusa, and try some others. This is great though!
So of course I took advantage of Frank’s mess up special and requested some of the Man Teas. This is my first 52teas purchase. I have never had a CTC Assam. I thought it was cool how small the “pellets” are(I would call them for lack of a better term). So I brewed this after the time change Sunday morning after tearing down a few shows. I love how dark and malty it is. I went cowboy on this with no milk or sweetner. The tea was so small it fell through my strainer. Reminds me a lot of coffee but it was a great start to the morning.
Stopped by the bucks to get a tea and to try one of those new petite cake pops…..Ok really I went in to use my gift card from my Iphone. Nerd Alert I had this about a year ago when I was working at a licensed store and thought it strong. So let me also say that they have done it again with these cake pops. Yes very tasty! and so is the tea. I really enjoyed the Earl Grey, this would be one that I would order on a regular basis. So I was doing some running around and went into Radio Shack. When I got back in the car the aroma reminded me of pesto. I don’t know why…I’m not complaining though either. It tastes similar to pesto as well. I will definitely order again.
The Doctor is in and he is killing me with this one! Another great one in the coffee tea collection from the Teagarden. So I admit that caramel happens to be one of those sweet-tooth weaknesses that I have. The dry leaves have a nice roasted and sweet aroma. The liquor…well it looks a lot like muddy water. Cloudy but that doesn’t deter from wanting to try this treat. Yeah! This is a good one. The smooth buttery caramel really comes through in this tea. It’s exactly like the coffee, but add that caramel and it really makes for a treat. Great with a splash of almond milk. This tea is going great listening to Nikka Costa’s-Pebble to a Pearl album on Rhapsody.
Well hello there friend. I received this tea from Ellen as my sweetea. Yes that was quite a generous package. Not a bad tea. Unfortunately Upton has discontinued this tea. Which to my dismay I’ve been finding some good teas that are no longer available from good companies. I should be content in being able to try this tea, and I am. Which is an overall outlook that I try to keep in life being content in my circumstances. This tea has the that nice flavor that you can pick out from the Yunnan providence, but has a little bit of a peppery kick. A very nice surprise.
So this was in my shipment from Dr. Tea. Donald put together a coffee tea sampler for me, something that they don’t even have on their website to order….yet ;) I wasn’t sure about a tea with pumpkin in it but this is amazing. A spicy chai and then the pumpkin adds this mellowing factor that is uncanny. It even gives the tea some texture. I dig!
I’ve been drinking bagged peppermint tea since I was in high school. This has to be one of the best I’ve had yet. I found it for 99 cents. The aroma of the bags hits you like a rush which is what I like in a peppermint tisane. I added this to my morning matcha and it was a great combo.
