377 Tasting Notes
I received a sample of this from Ellen. The aroma is very enjoyable. I like Jasmine and along with the other ingredients give it a tropical air. Which is nice when It’s cold like it’s been. Before looking it up on the website I wondered if it was a lung ching blend. My experience with chinese greens is not much. It’s light. The Jasmine is subtle. Lung Ching is a little bit light bodied for me to begin with(I like full-bodied blacks, Pu-Erhs, and Oolongs) but this is pretty good.
Received this courtesy of Joe Cool. At First taste a nice breakfast blend with the Assam and Keemun. I couldn’t taste the jasmine though. I am really enjoying this tea. It cooled off a bit and….hello there jasmine glad you made it to the party! This is definitely not what I thought it would be with Christmas in the title, but definitely a good cup.
This was one of the teas that Ellen sent in my sweetea package. Which was quite awesome! So this tea smells great a nice little bit of spice to it. This blend intrigued me with having so many different ingredients. At first sip I tasted roasted mate and the chai spices I said to myself….ummmm not digging it. I added a little turbinado sugar and it cooled a little and the flavors seemed to meld a bit better. It’s decent but I don’t know if I would keep it as a cupboard staple.
This was the first sample that I tried from Chi of Tea. I am very fond of Pu-Erh tea and find them to be a treat. I would say for some that Pu-Erh might be an acquired taste. I love it though and would drink it just about everyday. So opening up my samples I gravitated towards this one first. The aroma of the leaves are very rich and cacao like. Which in my experience is the first good sign. First steep: Oh yeah! there’s the dark robust earthy dark as coffee like brew that I love.

And yes the Ink Spots is the true version of this song…..sorry to The King Sisters. Yes an amazing first cup. Reminds me of my favorite Imperial Pu-Erh from Dr. Tea. In my experience with Pu-Erhs after second steep is when it starts to go “orange” and takes on the mushroom like flavor. I’m very impressed that it took me four steeps to get there with this tea. I think this is a fabulous Pu-Erh and I will be sure to order more.
Preparation
So this is my first experience with an ayurvedic blend so I was excited to try it with my samples from Chi of Tea. I swear yesterday was like Christmas again with my samples, my sweetea package, and another order coming. When I opened up the sample the aroma was invigorating. It reminded me being in a natural food store. I brewed it up and it was quite tasty I could definitely pick out the cardamon, licorice root, sambuca, and the fennel together. The tea almost reminded me of some of the traditional medicinals tisanes, like Gypsy cold care. Only much more potent. I really like this one a lot.
Thanks to brandy3392 for sending me this tea. There are those days when you need a swift kick in the pants to get going. I love the maltiness of this tea…it’s quite a strong brew not for the faint of heart……wait a minute…..cue Queen

A blend that Duncan Macleod would be glad start his day off with. Mixed with roasted Mate also makes a combination to rival any cup of coffee. Give me my broadsword to take on the day!
Preparation
I got this in a swap from Meghann M. I think Frank Oz himself would sing about.

I really don’t know if they should call this Almond Biscotti. Rather Almond cookie. Smell is just down right yummy. Even my 4 year old daughter thought it smelled good. It smells sweeter than when brewed in the cup. A great dessert tea that’s for sure.
Another tea that I got courtesy of brady3392. It’s has a nice aroma. No actual raspberry pieces so I wondered what the flavor would be like. The brew is a nice dark black. A great raspberry aroma. The best part is that it’s not too sweet. Even a little smoky like afore mentioned not too shabby.
