Whimsical fairytale blend of green tea with blueberry and lemon

Tasting Notes: blueberry | lemon | creamy

Every fairytale princess knows that true love’s kiss is the most powerful kind of magic. To bring that story into your teacup, we combined two seemingly opposing flavors of blueberry and lemon. Together, these sweet and sour fruits create a melody of flavor.

For the sweetest of kisses, we have this sweet blend of green tea with blueberries and lemon. The mild and lightly sweet flavor of blueberry carries through to the slightly tart lemon peel. Soft and smooth lemongrass also prevails in the blend, marrying the flavors all together for a spell-breaking delicious flavor!

Ingredients: green tea, green rooibos, blueberry, blue mallow, flavor, lemon peel, lemongrass, apple, orange, vervain, vanilla pieces, pink cornflowers

This tastes pretty floral with a background of green rooibos and green tea. I think the floral flavor is too strong, and I would have preferred more balance, but the mixed base is pleasant. Cold, it was refreshing, but again, I would have liked a different ingredient ratio.

Sipdown! (29 | 109)

So I signed up for the Trader Nicks subscription, because they have an option for just two teas a month in a small size for a reasonable price. I’ve only tried a few of their teas, and I love the Disney theme, so I want to try more!

This one is just okay. On the package it says something like “blueberry & lemon cake” as a description, but I’m not finding that to be accurate at all. I do taste a bit of blueberry and a bit of lemon, but the herbal ingredients are really taking this tea in a decidedly non-desserty direction. I think it’s the vervain that I’m tasting? It reminds me of sage, or maybe somewhere between sage and lavender – it’s earthy and somewhat savory.

A shame, as a blueberry & lemon cake tea sounds delicious! Too bad this wasn’t it. :P

I had Someone over for tea and served lemon cake with blueberries today! They go together so well!

Ooh that sounds scrumptious!

It is such a fun recipe. I found it on Pinterest. French Grandmother’s Lemon Yogurt Cake. Everything can be measured using the little French yogurt container, if you wish. One four ounce yogurt, then fill the empty container with sugar twice, then with flour three time, then once with oil. There is also baking powder, lemon zest, and salt in the cake.

For the glaze you fill the yogurt container halfway with lemon juice and one and a half times with powdered sugar.

I just find it fun to make! Since I make homemade yogurt I just use a half cup measure for everything or get out one of my little jars I kept from a long ago purchase of La Fermier or Oui.

Oh, and you hand mix it. No dragging out the big mixer! I use a Danish dough whisk to mix it.

gmathis

Oh, goody! A reason to hoard a Oui container!

gmathis

(yeah, like I’m going to bake anything from scratch)

The lemons came from derk!
