I got my first catalogue from Republic of Tea today and this was the sample that came with it. It isn’t something that I would’ve thought to buy for myself, but that’s what I like about surprise samples. The bag smells very yummy so I didn’t hesitate to boil some water. Brewed, it smells like candy. Possibly medicinal, as some reviewers have described. I’ve never considered medicinal fruit flavors to be offensive to my palate, so that’s not so much a con for me. However, it is a tea bag and it has that tea-bag flavor about it. I don’t know how to describe it, but black teas especially seem to have a uniqueness that they only get in a bag. I like the tea as far as bagged teas go. It’s something i’d likely pick up to brew if I saw it at someone else’s house or at a hotel. It Probably won’t be in my own cupboard, but I wouldn’t mind if it was.

Free sample with catalog! I like this tea, but I don’t love it. It’s fruitiness reminds me of the Mango Ceylon – enough to provide some sweetness but not where I could actually figure out the type of fruit in the cup just by tasting it. Very pleasant to drink, but I probably wouldn’t buy an entire tin.

From a work friend who raved over it. I was pleasantly surprised not to have to squunch up my face from a lot of tartness. Read through some prior reviews as I was sipping it … some of you will remember K S, whose general pronouncement was “kool-aid.” Yeah, cranberry kool-aid about sums it up. In a nice way.

Sipdown! (103 | 200)

Working through the rest of this RoT fall sampler today!

This one is pleasant enough, the cranberry part of it is giving me a slight cherry candy vibe, which I don’t love. The blood orange is nice but I wish there was more of it, and it does remind me slightly of Tang in the aftertaste. The base is very smooth but isn’t contributing much to the overall flavor.

So overall, it’s fine but nothing special, and certainly not one I would order. The search for the perfect cranberry-orange tea continues…

I get a nice orangey flavor here. I don’t necessarily taste the black tea. The flavoring isn’t tangy, sour, or fake. It’s well-balanced and pleasant warm with some sugar. I didn’t taste cranberry specifically, which was fine. Thanks tea-and-cats! I don’t think this was special enough to have again, but it was nice.

Had more fruit than tea flavor. The kind I (actually, my mother lol) purchased was loose-leaf variety. Tasted more cranberry than orange (orange left an aftertaste on the contrary). It was different; I am not a huge fan of Fruit Tea but I found this enjoyable enough.

This is pretty good. Light and pleasantly sweet/tart. The black tea is well balanced with the fruity flavors. This tastes like it would be good iced. It has a bit of bitterness, and the fruit flavor isn’t especially clearly defined, but it’s quite pleasant. One of the better teas I’ve had by Republic of Tea.

I’m too tired for this, but I think that Marzipan sent this to me. Thanks!
I tried this tea this morning, since I didn’t want to deal with steeping “real” tea.. I like blood orange and cranberry, so I thought this was a good way to start the day. I really didn’t get any “black tea” taste from this tea. The cranberry is more pronounced than the orange flavor, but both flavors are there. It’s a good combination. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy more, but it’s a pretty good teabag tea.

Received this teabag in one of my catalogs. Figured it was perfect for Turkey weekend. This is a nice sweet blend, not too tart on the cranberry. I really like the blood orange versus a regular orange in this blend. I recently ordered from them so I won’t order this now, but I’d surely add to a future order. I love cranberry teas around this time if year.
