From Simpson & Vail

“Sleigh bells ring, are you listening
In the lane snow is glistening
A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland…”

A wonderful blend of green rooibos with cacao and cinnamon and flavored with Bavarian chocolate, cinnamon and hazelnuts. When we sampled this in our store we heard “Best rooibos ever!”, “A new favorite”, “Great everyday tea”. It brews to a golden cup with the delicious aroma and taste of cinnamon baked goodies (we were reminded of apple fritters). Smooth and warming, this blend has the more pronounced taste of cinnamon and hazelnuts, while the Bavarian chocolate is an underlying taste that rounds out the other flavors. Delicious in every season!

Ingredients: Organic green rooibos, organic cacao nibs, organic cinnamon pieces, winter wonderland flavoring, and blue cornflower petals.

This is a flavorful blend of cacao and cinnamon with green rooibos. The chocolate and cinnamon notes are really strong. The rooibos a little bit in the background. This is an excellent tea to drink at this hour when I can’t have what I really want because of the caffeine.

I brewed this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 5 min.

Flavors: Cacao, Cinnamon

Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

I had a lot of fun trying out this tea. It’s a caffeine-free and guilt-free way to enjoy one of my favorite treats of the holiday season: My grandmother’s stollen, a sweet bread with raisins and cinnamon, topped with white icing that’s decorated with candied fruits and nuts. This rooibos does an excellent job of capturing those flavors… and makes me want to go bake the real thing, too!

Let me know if you’d like a copy of her recipe. It would be easy to scan and send.

Really? That would be awesome if it won’t be a huge bother! I love the idea of using family recipes.
