Blooming teas (also called flowering, presentation, or display teas) are one of the most beautiful presentations that exist in the world of tea. Initially, it is shaped like a modest, round ball of tea. But, pour hot water over it in a clear glass or teapot, and it quite literally blooms into a gorgeous floral arrangement.
These blooming teas come in a vast array of colors and shapes, but this particular tea opens into a base of green tea leaves surrounding a yellow marigold, with a lavender-colored globe amaranth flower floating above. The flavor is of a sweet, full-bodied jasmine green tea, and multiple infusions are recommended.
During steeping the bud will open up to reveal the long leaves and a delicate flower hidden inside. For fullest enjoyment, we recommend preparing this tea in a glass vessel and taking the time to watch it gradually unfurl.
