From Lupicia

A high-quality Japanese sencha scented with sweet and juicy Japanese white peaches. The fruity finish of white peach and the flavor of elegant and refined sencha are superb, whether the tea is hot or iced.

Drinking this tea is like eating a perfectly ripe and juicy white peach from the farmers market… but without the sticky dribbles down your chin or the slightly squirmy texture of peach fuzz (just me?)!

I enjoyed this hot last night and then cold brewed the spent leaves because I am always trying to get the most out of my tea. I’m drinking the cold brew right now, and it’s so crisp and juicy and smooth. The peach has taken on a smidge of gummy candy peach ring flavor, but only slightly.

So tasty.

This is my favorite peach tea! Lupicia does peach really well in general though, and strawberry too!

It’s delicious!

Proper packaging for tea is incredibly important. Not just for aroma but for every other aspect of the tea. You see tea is hygroscopic. Meaning it has the ability to draw from moisture particles around it which makes it perfect for scenting and flavoring. However, this also means that if the manufacturer or you don’t package the tea properly you could be ruining the tea. Momo Vert is a Japanese green tea that can be ruined not only with incorrect water temp but also with aroma. This tea has a sweet cherry / fruity scent mixed in with slightly grassy undertones. It is a nice uplifting smell. Likewise with the flavor. I oversteeped it a little bit so my cuppa is a bit more astringent than preferable. However, even with that astringency the fruity and wonderful grassy notes still get through.

Do you ever take a sip of a tea and then kind of step back and give it a look because you’re so impressed? That was me and this tea the first time I tried it. The mango is so clear and fresh. It’s like tasting a mango that’s not quite ripe. According to the website, it’s supposed to be peach, which I guess also works, but before I knew that, I really tasted mango. The green tea itself isn’t quite my favorite, and it takes over most of the flavor as it sits. I’ve had a few cups of this over the past few months, and I’ve been unable to recapture the magic of the first time. I love the flavoring, but I unfortunately find the green tea to not really be to my liking. It’s a little too harsh and loud. Thanks to my Reddit TTB Secret Santa for this one!

This one has a higher quality sencha base, so it definitely has a stronger taste than their other green teas! I remember loving it, I’ll have to refresh my memory sometime soon… :P

If you’re after me on the TTB, I could throw in the rest of my package of this for you!

Cameron B.

Aww you’re so sweet, but I actually have some! I just haven’t tried it in a while ha ha. One of the many downsides of having waaaay too much tea. XD

Going to do some quick notes on some teas I tried recently. ^^

This is a really nice peachy green tea. I really liked it. The sencha is a good quality, and the white peach flavor goes very well with it. Some rose notes are there but it’s delicate, not overwhelming. The white peach notes and a splash of mango notes were great.

This one is definitely my favorite of their peach teas, and on such a tasty base.

This is actually a new release from Lupicia. They really love their peach teas! Even though they already offer a peach and vanilla green tea (Momoko), I guess they felt that white peach is different enough to warrant its own tea. This does seem to be a higher grade sencha than they generally use for their flavored greens, with a darker color and more slender, aromatic leaves. The white peach aroma is fantastic.

I steeped this for 2 minutes instead of my usual 3, and I think next time I’ll reduce the time even more as it came out just a little bit bitter. But wow, this tea is a stunner! The peach flavor is so crazy sweet and lush and juicy. It’s almost slightly mango-like as well, and creamy enough that it tastes a bit like a peach smoothie. The base tea is vegetal, and a touch bitter due to my foolish mistreatment. There’s a nice touch of floral at the end as well.

Luscious! Another outstanding fruity tea from Lupicia. I hope they plan to keep this one around!

You had me at mango. The combo of all those flavours sounds incredible, I really want to try this.

Kawaii433

I’m drinking this now and omgosh it’s so yummy! It’s my last Lupicia to try. I tried 13 plus 6 samples. What a great experience. <3

Kawaii433

Oh, and I did the same thing. I steeped it at 175F and it is bitter as well.

Cameron B.

@Kawaii – I’m glad you like it! I think this one is a higher quality sencha base than they normally use. So I suppose I should steep it with that in mind – generally with straight sencha I’ll steep for 1 minute at most.

Kawaii433

@Cameron B Sounds good. I’ll try that too. :D
