365 Days of Tea Challenge – Day 21

Sipdown! (6)

Somehow, I always forget how much I enjoy these fruity white teas from Lov Organic. Although, I’m a bit worried they’re being discontinued as we speak, because all three flavors are 40% off and a lot of the package options (including the tins) are out of stock… :( I’ve asked about it on Instagram, but who knows whether I’ll get a response.

Mine is in sachet form, as it’s from a white tea sachet sampler pack.

It’s really good… The white tea base is fairly generic, with a soft, mellow hat & oats sort of flavor. But the fruits! The peach is juicy and sweet, and creamy when combined with the white tea. As for the blackcurrant, I’m not sure I would pick it out specifically if I didn’t know it was there. I might guess it was blackberry. But either way, it does add a lovely depth and slight jammy richness to the blend, and accents the peach perfectly.

Now I’m annoyed because I want a tin of this, and I’m very worried it won’t be available anymore. At least there are still some sachets in stock, maybe I should order a bunch…

They just got back to me on Instagram. They are discontinuing their white teas as they want to focus more on herbals. QQ!

Oh blackcurrant, why you gottta smell so BAD?! D: D: D:

Thankfully I’ve made this in a travel mug, so I can put the lid on it and don’t have to smell it.

Ahh, that’s better. It’s a fairly light tea, I think I could have steeped it a little hotter. But it’s pretty nice! The blackcurrant-peach flavour is really nice, and delicate at this point as it’s in my travel mug. I’m quite enjoying this.

Thanks so much, uhh, tea fren. :) (MissB maybe? I got it when I visited Sil.)

I enjoyed this iced. I can taste both blackcurrant and peach, which is a nice change of pace from one overwhelming flavor. Even if it is a good overwhelming. I didn’t get any wow factor here, but it was nice. I would only recommend being extremely careful not to oversteep – I brewed this at 160, normally only greens need to be that low for me, and it was still a bit bitter after three minutes.

Today I made a tea soda with this tea, which of course came from MissB. I found a bottle of sparkling water, and I need the bottle itself for carrying cold brewed tea to work, so a tea soda had to be made. Peach and black currant seemed like they would make a nice soda. It’s reasonably tasty, but could use… something. More sugar? Stronger tea? I dunno. The white tea is a bit strange in this too. Those hay flavors that white teas often have are quite strong here, and it doesn’t quite work in a soda. The peach and cassis are pretty nice, though. We’ll see how it turns out as a cold brew, I have a little left to try it.

MegWesley

Alright, I have to ask. How did you make the tea soda?

Another from MissB that i had today. This is a really nice peach, blackcurrant tea. I’ve been sick of “peach” teas for the last while but the addition of the blackcurrant to this one makes is a really pleasant cup that isn’t just PEACH. This was my favourite of the two lov organic’s i had today from missb :) Thanks as always!

Grabbed at Kusmi, had no idea it was a different company until I tried to put it in the database. It smelled like heaven at the store – sweet, sweet peach and apricot. Flavor wise, it’s a sweet peach mostly with blackcurrant in the background, and an aftertaste of apricot. Light yet creamy… Wow.

Flavors: Apricot, Black Currant, Creamy, Peach

Sil

sooooo you went to kusmi store and bought not kusmi tea? heh

MissB

Yes! It looks like kusmi, like it’s just a different line or something… I’m thinking its their line of organic teas.

Sil

internet says they share a parent company :)

MissB

Ah, see? That’s why I had no idea. I mean, the address on the packaging is the same even.
