Tea #11 from the Here’s Hoping TTB
I’ve been a bit burned out on Della Terra teas lately, they’re all starting to taste so similar that I did the unthinkable and didn’t order a single tea from the holiday collection. Wait, that’s a lie, I ordered Eight Candles, I just haven’t tried it yet. Even if I’m burned out, I am glad this tea came my way.
This tea makes me feel like I’m in 4th grade again since pop rocks were what all the “cool kids” brought to school for snack time. Yup, I am definitely a product of the 80s :) I wonder if kids today even know what pop rocks are? I’m going to try hard not to think about that, it just makes me feel old.
This really is such a fun tea and it makes me long for a roaring fire, but sadly we don’t have a fireplace or woodstove. I think this should be a crime in Wisconsin, but I guess I’ll live. The cinnamon gives me a nice warm glow, which is much needed this time of year. I can’t really taste the black base, most of the flavor of this tea is from the poprocks and cinnamon; they give the tea an almost too sweet flavor. While some people might find this tea a little gimmicky (I know I do) I think it’s fun and fits the season perfectly.
I wish there had been more of this tea so I could try it out as a latte, but sadly this tea won’t be continuing on, I finished off the last little bit.
