Ginger Pear (Organic)

Finally I’ve tried this.

And of course the perfect time to try new teas is when you’re sick (yep I said it) and can’t really taste a whole lot.

It’s fine. There was hardly any white tea, but I like the flavours of the bits that are in it. I could never justify spending white tea prices on a tea that’s mostly heavy fruit bits.

(The quince is actually quite nice in this, though. Very quincey…)

And I added honey.

Every time David’s tea comes out with a new tea, I’m always eager and excited to try it. Say it curiosity or something but I will never be able to sleep not until I get hold of the new tea. But take heart…. Not all new teas are meant to be tried and tested by me because I am biased to green and white tea then black tea in that particular order, wink! So when this tea was out in the store, I grabbed some.
Described as a comforting tea, I brewed a cup when I got home feeling blah from somewhere. First, I smell cinnamon then sipping it I tasted ginger. Not bad I should say BUT not to stay in my cupboard. Simply because I realized that I am not a cinnamon fan (when it comes to tea flavoring). Sorry David’s but Buddha’s Blend and Gold Rush are still my white teas… I will just finished the remaining leaves in the bag but not re buying; this is for my preference, but I’m not sure for those who like pear and cinnamon…..Happy drinking, tea-lovers!

I love pear , so I was hoping this would be a keeper because I also love white tea. Seemed like a good pairing as they’re both quite delicate flavours.
Maybe it’s just because I’m getting over a cold and coughing seems to still come naturally, the ginger or…more so the cinnamon, seems to make my throat itch to cough.
I’m not the hugest fan of ginger, but thought it would be a nice bite with this. But I don’t really understand the point of the cinnamon.

All around, it has a nice flavour, slight bite at the end, but just isn’t the pear tea I was hoping for. The search continues!

I haven’t reviewed this yet and I’ve had it since the summer haha. I recall having 1 cup and not being impressed so I’m trying one tonight to see if my tastes are different in the winter. The dry smell is weird… it reminds me of grandma-like perfume unfortunately. The spice and floral pear do not smell good to me, especially the cinnamon, as I’m not a fan of cinnamon in tea.

The flavor luckily is much milder. I honestly have not found my pear tea yet, and this isn’t it either. A bit too floral and perfumed as I’ve found another pear tea I tried ages ago to be. It’s not the worst, it is juicy, but I would love more ginger and a different pear flavor in here.

Overall, not a favorite, but it isn’t too bad. I am going to work through my bag and hopefully finish it off. It feels light on the caffeine which I’m pleased about. Not bad, but I had ridiculously high expectations for a ginger pear tea, and this fell a bit flat for me. But still very drinkable!

ETA – the juiciness is growing on me, and I am enjoying this tea more. Maybe I will grow to love it?! :)

1.5 tsp for 300mL water @90C, stepped 3 minutes, drunk bare.

I could not find a single tea leaf in this beautiful mix. Plenty of ginger and dried fruit, but not a speck of tea.
The ginger is not hot. The pear is a bit fake. The quince flavouring, though, is a delight. I am a bit irked at how little white tea appears to be in this blend, as it’s quite expensive.

I don’t know what is wrong with me! It’s November. I’m supposed to be drinking tea all day long. But every cup I’ve brewed lately gets only half drunk, and then spilled down the drain. It’s very disappointing! Of course, the weather doesn’t seen to know it’s November…

Delightfully sweet with a spicy ginger finish! A unique, aromatic white blend. I think 50g of this will be in my next order from DavidsTea. The rosehip compliments the fruit and spice flavors nicely. My only criticism is that the expensive white tea base is overwhelmed by the flavors. This tea was October 2014 Tea of the Month. I bought the 2014 Tea of the Month collection in December with the idea of sipping one on each of the 12 days of Christmas. But, then life got so hectic that I ended up reaching for my old tried and true favorites instead. So, now I get to reflect on 2014’s teas in January instead! This is the second tea I’ve tried from the collection, and so far I’m impressed.

Brewing aroma reminds me of bubble gum.

Flavour is sweet, refreshing and fruity. The white tea taste is blended well with the other flavours. A bit of ginger spicy-ness present. Overall, quite bland but pleasant flavour experience. There is a bit of bubblegum taste at the end of the sip. This would not be a tea that I would seek out but I feel that it has been well put together.

This tea smells so-so in the tin but really comes to life once brewed. The cup has notes of cinnamon, apple and pear. I’m only slightly picking up on the ginger, which is a little bit of a let down. I was really looking forward to a little more heat. Very fruity with a lingering aftertaste. This will be a nice tea for a chilly fall day, and I will be drinking what I have left. I won’t be purchasing this tea again, however, its just tastes a bit.. fake?

Despite ginger being the leading ingredient in this tea, the spice notes come across more as cinnamon candy. Also, I think it’s debatable whether there’s any actual tea leaves in here — I can’t see any, and if the order of ingredients is anything to go on, there’s more cinnamon than tea.

Even so, the flavor is very smooth for a spice tea, and the fruit flavors contribute a lot. It’s one of the David’s teas that’s decidedly on the artificial side, but it’s still palatable.
