7 Tasting Notes

Cold Brew – This is so lovely! I tried this hot as well but I think the grapefruit really lends itself perfectly to an iced tea. Bright, clean, subtle citrus and incredibly refreshing. I am new to cold brew this spring/summer and can’t wait to branch out with this area of teadom.

Meh. Fine with milk and sugar, but what isn’t, really? I am trying to drink more of my teas unadulterated and this one is uninspired. I taste mainly hibiscus.

Lovely pear fragrance and subtle pear flavor but not nearly enough ginger for my liking – I love my ginger!

Flavors: Floral, Pear

I wonder what would happen if you steeped a piece of crystallized ginger with the tea?

I agree with other reviewers that this tea has a dumb name. I am just getting started with pu-erh teas and am not sure I like them, so I think this was a nice way to ease in combined with oolong and ginger, two of my favorites, although I wish the ginger was more forward. DavidsTea tends to add flavoring to everything, and this is no exception but I don’t know what flavor it is! It was earthy and citrusy and took milk and sugar nicely. Low caffeine level made it appropriate for bedtime and I like the digestive properties.

Flavors: Citrus, Wet Earth

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 5 min, 15 sec 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

I got some pu-erh tea in San Francisco’s Chinatown while there for a conference in 2004-ish. I shortened the name to just “poo.” ;)

This tea by a local Colorado company is pure nostalgia and deliciousness. It’s made with smoky Lapsang Souchong and sweetened with creamy white chocolate. Decadent with milk and sugar, though not necessary.

I’ve always enjoyed tea, but 2016 has brought a whole new level of devotion…current obsessions are oolong & lapsang souchong.

Favorite flavors/notes are vanilla, ginger, citrus, cherry, apricot, coconut, chocolate and smoke.

I read as voraciously as I drink tea, and talk about my two wonderful rescue dogs all over the Internet.
