From DAVIDsTEA

Like all amazing recipes, this one took years to perfect – and it was totally worth the wait. This tea miraculously captures the flavour of freshly-baked banana bread. The taste of real banana slices blends perfectly with almonds and the sweetness of dates and currants. It’s fragrant, with all the warmth of a loaf hot from the oven. As deliciously comforting as mama’s special recipe, but without the calories.

Ingredients:
Dates, currants, almonds, banana, artificial flavouring.

Price: $8.98 per 50g

Prep Method: 1 DT perfect spoon and I used boiling water to steep this and let it steep covered for 15 minutes. I drank this without any milk or sweetener.

This tea is delicious! I actually think the taste and smell resemble Banana Pudding more than tea. Probably because of the artificial flavoring. It’s making me think of the Jello banana pudding mix. It’s very creamy and sweet a perfect dessert tea. I do wish the dry leaf wasn’t so heavy since my pouch of this is already quite a bit smaller even though this is my first cup of this tea. If it was more affordable I would gladly have a cup of this tea every day.

I like to have a caffeine free tea in the evening and I’m always looking for alternatives to your Rooibos, Mints or HoneyBushes. I saw this and thought I would give it a shot.

First, while this isn’t the most expensive tea, you don’t get a lot per ounce. It has big chunks of banana slices that are heavy.

Second, while it does have a nutty flavor and is reminiscent of banana bread. It is VERY banana forward. Hot banana water is not my favorite drink.

I did manage to work my way through the 4 ounces, but I won’t be buying this one again.

Day 9 of my DIY 24 Days of DAVIDsTea!

Hot latte!

Banana Nut Bread is one of those blends that needs to be overleafed & oversteeped to get the best results out of it. I steeped it for close to 45 minutes, sweetened with vanilla agave, and topped with frothed milk. It’s rich, sweet, nutty, and very dessert like with a nice, creamy banana flavour.

It remains a favourite of mine, especially as a fan of banana, but I try to limit my consumption as to not use up my stash right away. It’s definitely costly to hoard…

The way you prepared it sounds so good! I will get this tea if it goes on sale since it sounds lovely, but very high maintenance if you want to enjoy it properly lol! Definitely not a steep-and-go kind of tea it seems! :)

I steep this one for a really long time to make sure I get a strong flavor from it – like 20+ minutes. The resulting flavor is pretty tasty! You get both the banana and maybe some light nuttiness. It creates a thick sludge in the bottom of the cup, so watch out for that on your last mouthful. The second steep is pretty good too. It definitely tastes more like banana chips than fresh banana, but I’m just glad it tastes like some form of real banana. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to purchase this one since its weight means you don’t get much for your money. But I would always say yes if it were offered in some sort of magical free method.

Very nice, but lots of gunk left on your steeper, in your steeper, top of the cup, bottom of the cup – everywhere

I finished off my packet of this tea last night. I think I liked it better than when I first got it. I am raising my rating to reflect that. Maybe I didn’t use enough in my previous cups. This time I used all of the tea that was left in the pouch, about 2 teaspoons. It was sweet and mellow and not fussy.

Fall is coming. It is my favorite time of the year. Cooler evenings means I gete to enjoy my chai teas again. Maybe I am anal or something, but I don’t generally like spice teas in the heat of summer. I’m sure we will have plenty of hot weather before fall really hits, but we have some nice days in the upper 60s and nights down to the mid 40s this coming week and I am excited!

The first gray, drizzly day of the fall does soothe the spirit, doesn’t it? (My opinion changes drastically in February and March.)

Yes, I like fall, but winter gets a little long.

Was pretty hesitant about this tea cause usually David’stea puts way too many nuts inthekr teas and I love banana. But this surprised me! Really like it! This is actually a tea I got when I went to a DavidsTea store in person last year. Absolutely love that shop-wish there were some in Texas! Anyway I’m happy I took a chance with this tea! Kinda wish the banana flavor were stronger but it’s not…but still good!

This tea is just like having a slice of banana nut bread. I ordered a cup brewed in the store so not sure of the tea quantity, but i’ve brewed two 16 oz. cups from the same bag. One thing about this tea though it that in order for it to really taste like brea, I kept the teabag in the entire time. The tea didn’t get strong enough for me until the 10-15 minute mark, but by then it was cool enough to drink. I will definitely buy some of this
