This tea goes down really nicely first thing in the “morning.” On the first sip it is light, lemony, and green. There is a slight bitter/ acrid side to it but I actually enjoy that. I I like bitter foods (cranberry, grapefruit, etc.). Helps me to feel awake and cleansed in a way. I could be imagining it, but I feel like this tea helps settle my stomach. According to my physiotherapist I have a “hot” stomach with an imbalance of chi. Haven’t looked into it but I do often get random stomach pains and acne on my right cheek, which in TCM indicates stomach problems. Things to think about.

Anyways. I have brewed this hot several times now from a sampler pack and am debating purchasing it on its own.

Picked up 10 grams of this tea just to try out- I’ve had my eye on it for some time, and I’m glad I gave it a try. It’s a nice green tea with a mild citrus taste. Reminds me of Cold Zing :)

I’ll admit, the was not even on my “to smell” list but I had her pull it down out of curiosity sake, and then it smelled so much better than I expected, and then I got a cup iced and it was sooooo tasty. It had a nice green tea flavor with hints of citrus.

This has been my morning tea for the past few weeks. I’m on the fence about if I would buy it again. I do enjoy it but typically I will only have one cup a day due to a bitterness that seems to happen near the end of the cup.

Not much to say about this tea…a definite taste of dandelion in it and the vegetal taste of green tea…but not a very good tasting tea.

This tea is weird. Dry, the leaves smelled slightly medicinal but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was exactly. When steeping, the leaves smelled a lot like cannabis. Like, a lot. The taste is green tea with something else? Maybe the dandelion root? I’ve never had dandelion root, so I don’t know. My stomach was feeling not quite right but this tea is actually helping and I kind of like it more and more as I’m sipping. This is marketed as a hangover tea and I think it would work really well for that if you can get past the smell. It might be too much for me if I was actually hung over. I would never in a million years have picked this tea, but thanks to Virginia I now know that I like it and it’s pretty useful for calming mild stomach issues. Success!

So this has gotten a lot of not so good reviews, but I will say it loud and proud: I love this tea! It does need a bit of sweetener, but I find it very refreshing and light. I love the zip of it. Does that make me crazy? :D

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about a new (to me) tea… But considering I went and got a ton (well only 21, so not a true ton!) of DT “samples” from my local store I’ll be posting a bit more frequently again :) Course the whole point of doing this was to get the perfect mug infuser for free so there’s a bonus for that too (more on that at a later time.)

So this morning I pulled 5 samples from my bag to take with me to work and first up is “Some Velvet Morning”. I wasn’t sure about this one since I’ve never had dandelion root or schizandra berries but the dry scent convinced me to give it a shot. Filled with bright, fresh citrus notes the aroma pulled me in. There was a certain sweetness to it as well that kept the citrus from being harsh and the couple of notes from the green tea helped to round out the scent profile. I also got a few darker notes that I’m guessing are from the dandelion root but I’m not 100% certain on that one.

The clear yellow-orange liquor wasn’t nearly as citrusy as the dry leaves were and the darker notes from (again I’m guessing) the dandelion root and the berries really start to come through. There’s also a few grassy notes mixed in there. Overall I find the scent a bit muddled at this stage; not as fresh, but still compelling.

The flavor… not bad. A bit on the astringent side, and a touch muddled but not bad. The lemongrass and orange work well together as a lovely high noted, fresh component and the berries and dandelion root fill in the dark notes nicely, but it’s missing some mid-range notes to make it well rounded and fully balanced. I also find the green tea to be a bit overwhelmed by the citrus, it’s really hard to pick out any distinct flavors from it. Sweetness wise it’s pretty good though; it could use just a touch to help even out the citrus but otherwise not bad. I’ll have to try this again at home with a touch of honey, that might also fill in some of those mid-range flavors too.

BTW has anyone seen Spring around recently?? If you do can you let it know that I’d like for it to come and visit me soon!

Meh, I don’t think this tea is anything special. It tastes like a bit of orange and the lemongrass is nice. However I don’t think I’ll buy anymore

Tastes like sweet tangerine green tea! I steeped it for 2 minutes (after letting the water cool from boiling for 5 minutes to obtain 80 degrees – which is what green tea should be brewed at!)then added a little milk (1%). YUMMY!

I like how it tastes :S dont understand all the aweful reviews! I’m just gunna go ahead and assume they poured boiling water over the leaves and burnt it. Hence the gross taste. :) Know the correct temperature people!!

If you like green tea I suggest you should give this one a go!
