From Celestial Seasonings

The distinctive sweet-tart flavor and enticing aroma of American-grown raspberries are the perfect complement for fruity Thai hibiscus and tart and tangy Chinese hibiscus in this robust herbal blend. Soothing when served warm, this blend is satisfying and refreshing when served as iced tea.

Ingredients: Hibiscus, rosehips, roasted chicory, orange peel, blackberry leaves, natural raspberry flavor with other natural flavors (contains soy lecithin), raspberries and raspberry leaves

I am very very fond of this tea- the “zinger” bit of it (the tartness) is very pleasant and I like to steep this tea very strong and very tart. It does smell very raspberry and it does taste quite a lot like the wild red raspberries that I pick from the yard.

Raspberry, I find, is a very temperamental flavour. When it’s just right, it’s sensational. But, if you don’t get it to the correct level of sweet-tangy, it’s not quite right for me, and not my first choice. Raspberry-flavoured chocolate often falls into this category for me, though I’ve seen a tea or two combine the two successfully.

This tea… has a nice tang to it, but it falls short of the mark for me on the raspberriness. It’s in that muddled not-quite sweet-tangy-real-raspberry flavour which… never really satisfies me. Adding sugar does brighten it a bit, but doesn’t take it to my happy place with raspberry, unfortunately.

ETS blackcurrant herbal had me craving fruity tisanes so I picked up one of Celestial Seasonings sampler boxes.

I remember trying this tea years ago and not liking it.

I tried this tea again a few days ago… and I still did not like it. Some of their fruity tisanes had been improved (See my note on True Blueberry) but this one had not. It still tastes… I don’t know what it tastes like, not like any raspberry I’ve ever picked. It tastes like pinkness and artificialness though I think it’s supposed to have real raspberry and other natural flavors. Maybe it’s the hibiscus I’m tasting and not liking?

Sugar improves this tea a little but I still don’t like it.

Lives up to it’s name! Tangy, zingy, the raspberry flavor really takes the stage in this tea, mainly in aroma. The hibicus doesn’t sit back though; it comes through full flavor upon drinking, with a slight hint of rose. It’s a quality bagged tea, one of my favorites. I use a dollop of honey to sweeten it, but be wary: oversweetning kills the floral and fruity flavor and makes it unbearable. I had to control my sweet tooth with this tea and back off the honey at first. The sweet and tart of the tea itself with a little help from clover honey is a true treat.

Bashiera

Also, I find adding two tea bags to the normal water and steeping time makes it more strong if I’m in the mood for a more tangy drink. One bag for something mellow.

Nice and fruity, just the right amount of tartness. It seemed like I did have to add more sweetener to it than usual (but I do like things sweet). I didn’t really taste the other flavors in it, just raspberry. I can’t wait to try this one mixed with black tea.

This is the most amazing raspberry tea that I’ve ever try in life. I drink it hot just because it leave me to delight the gorgeous fruttylicious smell of raspberry combined with orange peels & hibiscus mix that I really love it!

I use to have perfumes, essential oils and lip-gloss with this fruity spell to stop been tempting of eating artificial flavorings and colorants candies when I got anxiety. Since I try this tea I have something that really is helpful for me to feel apart of sweetest temptations that harm my general health, my stomach and figure with a few pound under me.

I start to control and quiet bads sugars since I were conscience about the power of eating healthy food specially organic, a non-flavor enhancers, non-coloring agents & non-preservatives best knowns as food additives, for more reference visit: http://fooddemocracy.wordpress.com/2007/10/16/food-additives-demystified/

First whiff of this stuff is definitely raspberry. Second smell and closer to the nose is more vegetal. Giving it a hot water bath brings back the raspberry aroma. But I can also smell the ‘tart’ which actually brings rhubarb to mind. I had grabbed some sugar but this doesn’t really need it. It’s a nice balance of sweet & tart and actually tastes of raspberries.

The actual raspberry flavor of this isn’t bad when you single it out. It’s not too artificial. But the rest of the elements of the tea are very weak. I can vaguely taste the hibiscus, but it’s mostly overwhelmed by that generic bland herbal taste most of Celestial Seasonings’ feature. I wouldn’t buy it again. Next time I’ll be looking for a real black tea instead of this sawdust.
