Lemonberry Whip Green Rooibos

Drinking this one currently and really enjoying it!

I steeped this today iced to sip on over the coarse of the afternoon, and I have to say that the rich sweet lemon and creamy marshmallow notes are coming through so clearly and deliciously. Something about this combination of an incredible creamy vanilla lemon tea with the marshmallow is really making me think of the almost unnaturally yellow Marshmallow Peeps that you get around Easter – but not as sugary/cloying and fake tasting.

I don’t really taste the berry, despite seeing some in my measured out tea leaf, but I think I’m too enamored with the creamy lemon marshmallow profile to care.

I enjoy green rooibos much more than regular rooibos, and always appreciate when it’s utilized in blends.

This is nice- super sweet, candy lemon.

This was perfectly lovely! I can usually taste lemon because ‘sour’ is one of the flavors my dead tastebuds can discern. But i didn’t get any sour here, just a hint of tartness, but was buried under an almost creamy flavor. I bet if I could taste, I would ADORE this one. As it is, I do love it. It was a perfect after supper cup for a chilly evening.

This is a lovely light and fluffy lemon marshmallow sort of green rooibos. Very soothing for the evening.

I will say, I would have liked a bit more berry here. I think a touch of berry tartness would have played very well against the sweet and fluffy lemon fluff. Or maybe some deeper blueberry notes to add some dimension.

Anyway, still a lovely tea. Like floating on fluffy lemon clouds. :)

This was pretty good! Not sure I tasted much berry, but it was a really nice creamy lemon flavour, and I appreciated the lack of caffeine.

I need to trust 52teas more than I do my own taste buds and preconceived notions. I saw “lemon,” I thought “tart,” and my nose did a crinkly thing of its own accord. I was not looking forward to this tea.

I’m so glad I ignored me and went for it anyway because I was too lazy to go hunting for a different tea packet. It’s divine! And I’ve got the very last packet of it in my cart right now, so please don’t rush to buy it.

The dry leaf blend is fragrant, but what’s really lovely is the wet mush that’s left in the strainer after steeping—it smells so good, like warm blueberry-lemon muffins just out of the oven. The biggest surprise is the sip: it’s smooth and mellow and bright and energising* and not – at – all – tart! There’s a little less berry in the flavour than in the fragrance, but that could be attributed to the way the ingredients landed after I shook the packet; I may throw a few dried blueberries into the next steep for a stronger berry presence.

52teas recommend having this iced, which is what I shall try next.

*Honestly this is something I always attribute to citrus, true or not. ¯\(ツ)/¯

I wish I’d tried this one before my recent 52teas order so I could have ordered more! It’s good! Nice fresh lemon with a bit of berry and some softness from the green rooibos. I’m having it cold, and it’s quite lovely. I coldbrewed a second steep, and that was great as well. It’s just so fresh and smooth.

L is for…Lemonberry Whip

So I started work this week. I was commuting from Hamilton to downtown Toronto to take Teams calls which was time consuming and seemed silly. Even sillier is that I am working at the company I have worked at off and on since 2016 and had to do all the training…again…for the 4th time. In fact, I was referred to in some of the training sessions because my experience with the company was extensive. Also, I get panic wheezing aka stress induced asthma and I guess from adjusting to the commute and new schedule, my body freaked out and I had to work from home for 2 days and get a covid test (while remotely attending a work meeting). No covid. Yay! Also, I found out I passed my second bar exam which means I will be a lawyer once I finish my articling. Also yay! This is all to say that this week has been hectic and I have been off tea for a little while and finally today I had a moment to breathe so I decided to do another day of alphabet teas.

This tea came from me from the subscription Roswell Strange enrolled me in for my birthday this year. Thank you!! I have had this tea once before and remember enjoying it quite a bit. I do get the rooibos base a little more than I like but the front of the sip is a lot of fluffy lemon/vanilla notes. The kind of fluffy lemon that makes me think of Harney’s Wedding Tea or Butiki’s Lemon French Macaron. So that initial lemon really speaks to me. On top of that lemon, I am getting blueberry. On their own, both are great but I find they hold each other back slightly b/c they are competing for attention.
