From 52teas

When I was determining the tea menu for this month, I knew I wanted to do one last peach tea as the summer wanes. I also wanted to do a cream cheese type of tea because it’s been a little while since our last cream cheese offering. So I decided to bring these two flavors together to create a Peach Cheesecake Honeybush!

I started with organic honeybush – I thought that the natural nutty-like flavors of the honeybush would make a nice base for the flavors of peach and cheesecake. Then I added freeze-dried peach chunks and cinnamon and natural flavors to create a sublime, dessert-y treat. This blend is all organic, gluten-free, allergen-free and naturally caffeine-free – not to mention delicious!

organic ingredients: honeybush, freeze-dried peaches, cinnamon, ginger root, calendula petals and natural flavors.

My boyfriend and I split the taster envelope a few weeks ago but I’ve yet to write about it because reasons. Busy reasons. I do recall liking this, picking up on both peach and cheesecake notes on top of a gentle honeybush base. If only there were more than 24 hours in a day so that I could find more time to write reviews. Sigh!

Another sample from VariaTEA. This is a nice one for this evening. I always want more ginger, but the peach flavouring here is really nice without being that weird tim hortons “peach drink.” the cheesecake here makes itself known in a creamy sort of way. It’s less cheesecake and more creamy…but it’s tasty. I am a fan of this one :)

Omg, I once tried to get them to refund me for that weird Tim Hoetons peach drink. Blech :))

Arby

I love that peach drink so much. It doesn’t taste like juice/real fruit at all, it tastes like the prepared/powdered juice they have at the “free breakfasts” at hotels.

Sil

lol gross arby haha

MrQuackers

That drink tastes like the preservative they put in it. (No carbonation.. plenty of sugar .. closed container)

You should just drink the juice from a cheap bottle of maraschino like cherries.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the peach was not artificial tasting at all- very nice and sweet, but I really did not taste any flavors other than the peach. This was a very nice non-caffeinated cup.

I wrote a tasting note for this last night but my computer glitched and deleted it before I could publish it. I got lazy and decided not to rewrite it but I’m being lazy st work and decided to just note that this was awesome. Both spiced and tangy and it smelled amazing.

Love Love Love this!! Ooooh Anne you did it again! What an amazing blend. The first thing I tasted was cinnamon and then came in the peach and ginger and creamy cheesecake. Mmmmm! So delightful. I am not usually a fan of ginger having a strong presence so I was thankful that it was more of a complimentary hint, opposed to a dominant flavor. This was so delightful I do wish I had tried this in the fall!

Ginger and peach are such complimentary flavors (ginger and any stone fruit really). Both the ginger and the peach are easy to pick out here, as well as a faint floral fragrance that really puts this over the top. There is a light cinnamon flavor too which reminds me, strangely enough, of Christmas shops (or, more specifically, candle shops at Christmastime). This I mean in the best possible way. This is a rare instance where the honey actually took away from the flavor of the tea for me. Next time, I’ll drink it straight or with a minimal amount of honey. I also didn’t like this one as much as it cooled.

The honeybush is really nice with this. as someone who doesn’t do well with caffeine, I really appreciate having so many delicious flavours (and with vegan ingredients, too!) The peach flavour came from the dehydrated peaches and didn’t taste artificial at all. Even more interesting was that fact that the peach did not make this really sweet, so I could taste all the notes in the honeybush.

The faint peach here blends perfectly with the honeybush flavour. Seamless transition from one flavour to the other. All the other flavours are absent for me though. To be fair, 52teas has suggested that this one is best enjoyed as a cold steep.

Pleasant enough bedtime brew.

In the process of cold steeping now. I am predicting a win.

Although this week is coming to a close (and already has for some of you!) I wanted to post something abou this week’s tea of the week. I cold-brewed some last night and that is the way to brew this tea! It’s good hot brewed, certainly, and that’s the way I prepared it for my taste testing but cold-brewed, the cheesecake notes pop and there’s a lovely note of cinnamon and just a hint of zesty ginger to enhance the sweet peach-y notes.

I might have to share some of this with hubby!
