From 52teas

I think it’s about time for another Honeybush blend, and not just any honeybush blend, but a CHEESECAKE honeybush blend. I fully expect this blend is going to be every bit as popular or more popular than our Coconut Cheesecake Honeybush, so don’t drag your feet about ordering this one; I used up the LAST of our honeybush creating it, and I’m still waiting on my supplier–whose shipment is stuck in customs at the moment.

We’ve blended our organic caffeine-free African honeybush with organic lemon myrtle, some marigold petals and all natural flavors to create a truly mouth-watering batch of deliciousness. The scent of this blend alone is enough to send some folks into paroxysms of joy, but the flavor is beyond stunning. Hot or iced, this is a serious TREAT.

Another tasty sample from Amanda! (I think I may have also received some of this from Jillian, but will drink that up later :) )

This one’s tasty :D Smells lemony, tastes lemon-limey. I’m not getting cheesecake (I rarely/never do), but the lemon-limeyness makes me pretty happy. I love finding a new flavoured honeybush for the evenings! I have been drinking a lot of honeybush lately, in trying to avoid late-night caffeine, so this is especially awesome. The only part I’m not a big fan of with this blend is that I am getting a sort of plasticky taste with it sometimes. It’s a little bothersome, but at its current level, not too difficult to overlook, so I can deal with it. I wish that flavour wasn’t there though :( Perhaps an age thing?

I added a teaspoon of wildflower honey to this cuppa and found that it make it taste like citrus-flavoured candies. I was hoping that it would also bring out the cheesecake flavour a bit more, but no such luck. Despite this lack I find it hard to knock such a great-tasting tea.

Well thankfully I made this in my cast iron teapot because I am having SO many problems with AT&T and everything else is going wrong lately that when I finally got through their stupid robot spiderweb phone menu, nobody is there to talk billing at 10:30pm.

I of course found all this madness right after I made the tea so it has steeped for a long time and it is soooo good and making me feel slightly better.

I get a lot of cheesecake tang, and it is very lemon-lime. I thought the lime felt more predominant but then it got really lemony. And it’s nice and sweet…unlike AT&T

Awesome!

Frank nailed it. I can’t say that I have ever tried Lemon-Lime Cheesecake, but, I can taste the lemon and lime, and I can taste the cheesecake, and I can taste the buttery crust. So… I have to guess that this is what Lemon-Lime Cheesecake would taste like in liquid form.

Well done, Frank. Of course, you already knew that, right?

This was a highly anticipated treat. I was convinced that Canada Post had lost it, but luckily it arrived on Friday, almost a month from the day I ordered it. We tried it out at my grandmother’s over the weekend and really enjoyed the strong lime aroma. I didn’t get any cheesecake taste (very sad face) but I did get a wonderfully limey tea. I have a couple other lime teas from David’s Tea and I learned that I really enjoy lime in tea. Since the beau loves lemon, this seemed perfect. And honestly, if this had been marketed as a lime tea (no cheesecake!) or had the promised cheesecake flavour, it might have been perfect. For now, it’ll sit around 75, and I will continue to see if I can get that promised cheesecake flavour. Maybe it needs lower temps? I boiled it last time…but at least I got two solid steeps before we switched out of necessity.

Glad to hear it took a month. I ordered on July 6th and still haven’t gotten it so there is still hope for mine.

Uniquity

I always have hope…but my 52Teas order (and tea in general, really) always come very slowly. Apparently Canada Post agrees with my family and believes I have too much tea so I don’t need any more. How wrong they all are!!

nomadinjeopardy

My 52Teas orders always seem to take a month! It’s really strange. I’ve also never been able to find the cheesecake flavour in the cheesecake teas. I’m glad it’s not just me. I always enjoy the other flavours but when you’re expecting cheesecake you want cheesecake!

Sip down! Had a few cups of this tonight with Sharon. Thanks to kittenna for letting me try a bit of this. While I find its a great lemon lime tea, there is not so much of the cheesecake flavour happening here. Slightly disappointing, but because it IS a nice lemon-lime tea, its hard to be upset with it lol

Starfevre

Why is it that I only find lime flavours in honeybush? Frustrating!

Sil

i’ll keep an eye out for you

Kittenna

Have you tried Lime Gelato from DavidsTea? And I have heard good things about Lime Fizz from The Tea Haus, although I don’t recall the base on that one.

Shmiracles

uh oh…
lime gelato…
added to cart.

Kittenna

Just FYI, it does contain dairy :(

Starfevre

I’ll add them to my shopping list since I’ve been trying not to buy anything. Except more matcha next month. Because I need more matcha, really. (Not really)

Starfevre

Or at least the DavidsTea one. The other one impinges upon my intense loathing of all things ginger.

Am I really the first person to review this gem? I have a long day of creative mischief planned in my workshop (read as my corner of the garage where I ruin perfectly good materials with hammers and dremel tool attachments). So, I made a huge pitcher of Lemon-Lime Cheesecake Honeybush to stay hydrated because it is HOT today!

I first tried this tea hot a few nights ago. At first sip, the tang of lemon comes right through. It’s a very pleasant tang with no bite or bitterness. The lemon flavor moves into a rich, creamy body, and the finish has a nice lime kick. Lime can be a tricky flavor component for me to enjoy, but Frank got it right. Cold steeped, this tea is citrusy and refreshing! Hopefully this delicious honeybush will keep me hydrated on this sweltering day.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

I wanted to order this but realized I had many similar in terms of ingredients so I passed. I hope I didn’t make a mistake? However, if I did I suppose I would have to live with it.

LiberTEAS

I haven’t yet tried mine. Perhaps I shall try it today!

Jenn

LiberTEAS, doooo It! I’ve been forgetting about teas that I’ve orderd, and when I find them in my cupboard it’s so exciting. Who knew that loosing your mind could be so much fun :)

Rachel, live with it? LIVE WITH IT? Never! I know a lady who will happily send you some.

LiberTEAS

LOL Jenn – if forgetting about teas = losing my mind, then my mind was lost long ago.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Count me in. My brain is like the missing sock from a pair. :) Gone forever with no explanation because I was sure they both made it into the dryer.

Jenn – You are too sweet and too funny. I could not in good conscious refuse such an offer. Thank you! :)

Jenn

Rachel, yay! Share and share alike :) So, I’m going to make sure that my cupboard is up to date today. Please take a peek and let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to try. I also ordered the Cinnamon Roll Honeybush, so please let me know if you want to try that one too :)

thank you Amanda for a sample of this included in your tea envelope sale! This one sounded like an interesting one to try tonight. I realized recently that rooibos and herbals are the only teas that do not have caffiene. I’m a bit worried I won’t be able to resist the caffiene teas at night! This is definitely lemon/lime! But a little short changed on the cheesecake element. It does have an odd scent to it that I guess should be the cheesecake? I can’t really taste it though, just smell it. It does become more present as it cools. It would probably be good iced! I really need to start making iced teas. I wonder what the difference is between honeybush and rooibos is.. they seem so similar. This is good — I just wish it had more of a cheesecake flavor to it. Maybe I didn’t put enough tea in the infuser… Seems very sunshiney!

Frolic

It is delicious iced, definitely try it.

This is a sample from the ever-so-lovely and generous JENN! Thank you, Jenn!

I wanted to sample some honeybush teas because I am not a fan of rooibos but wanted some caffeine free options for evenings. I have never had lemon lime cheesecake so I don’t know how this compares, but I can say it tastes very good! The lemon is the most prominent note for me, with the lime close behind. Though the lemon aroma is there, the tisane is not tart at all, but very smooth. Think of lemon drops hard candy but without the pucker. I tried it hot, then iced and lightly sweetened, then just cooled off to room temp but not iced, which is how I really enjoy a lot of teas, especially oolongs and some flavored teas! It was enjoyable every way I tried it, and I am so glad to have another option for those times when I need to limit caffeine but want something flavorful.

Thank you, JENN!

This tea came to me from iHeartTeas, who had a sell-off sale awhile back.

While I haven’t been a huge fan of Frank’s teas, I do tend to enjoy the honeybush blends he puts out. While I thought this had a good lemon-lime flavor, I wasn’t getting the cheesecake at all which was pretty disappointing. Part of this may be the fact of how old my sample of this tea is. It did do the job of making my sore throat feel better, so I’m glad I started my day off with this.
