280 Tasting Notes
Ive been horrible at checking this site, but wanted to come on here and review the apricot tea. I should
Probably stop trying the fruit flavored black teas from Harney as I never have luck with them. This tastes a little floral, not necessarily of Apricot. Ot just comes across as a flavored tea with flavoring rather than a pleasant tea that is blended perfectly. Was not really a fan.
I haven’t given up on trying more expensive tea’s…. Although I think I should. I just dont seem to have much luck with them. It has an unpleasant taste to me, not sure why! Cant really explain what I found so unenjoyable. Don’t oversteep, it goes really bitter!
This has been on my want to try list for a long time. I don’t see many tea from African unless they are red bush tea. First time I had this I loved it, can taste all the fruit honey notes, I think subsequent brews I didn’t brew it up right due to time. Worth trying though…
Not a fan. Almost has a bit of a Star Anise taste to it but not listed in the ingredients. Mostly tea dust with little bits of spice. I do smell the cardamom. Mostly I make this with water but I think it might be better with milk. Just adding a bit of milk didn’t work for me, I had to switch to evaporated milk. There are better chai teas…I don’t like most of Vadham teas but their Assam Chai is amazing…would get that over this any day.
Flavors: Star Anise
This is a strong black tea!! I like it. Small crushed leaves that looks visually different from all the other teas. Takes milk and sugar very well. I think I favor the Irish breakfast over this just a bit more but I do really like this one! I went to Barcelona for a few days and didnt bring any tea, I was so happy to come back home to this!!! Next time I am traveling with my tea.
Haven’t tried this one, but I’m glad to hear it’s a strong one — most Scottish breakfast teas I have tried in the past have been surprisingly mild.
I think it’s stronger than Irish breakfast. I think I prefer Irish breakfast because it’s a little more mild but this one is nice, I don’t really need something quite so strong. since I’m caffeine sensitive but I didn’t have toooo many issues with this one :)
Roxy, thanks for posting more. I have tried both the Irish Breakfast and the Scottish Morn several times now, and I also prefer the Irish Breakfast. The Scottish Morn is stronger and the Irish Breakfast seems to be more complex in flavor in a way I like.
Eh…I was expecting to love this. I love Earl Grey and I think I love creamy teas. But it tasted exactly like an Earl Grey Rooibos I had a few months back…I guess I’m tired of that flavor and wasn’t expecting it in this tea. It really doesn’t taste like Earl Grey …just weird and artificial. Disappointing.
Not bad, I was thinking it would have banana, anything with monkey in the title tends to make me think bananas. Anywho, it does have a strong coffee taste, lotsa visible coffee beans- green beans etc. its nice although pretty sweet on its own. Liked it most as a latte. Good for coffee lovers that are looking to switch to tea…
I really like this tea. Perfect breakfast tea with milk and sugar.. nice and strong but expensive . It’s little bits of tea and maybe overpriced. 10 dollars for under two ounces when you can get 4 ounces of Harney free shipping under ten. I think the Irish breakfast is most comparable if my memory serves. I like it… prolly wont buy it again…
