New Tasting Notes
I’m neutral on this one. Not too hot on the smell maybe because I’m not a Pina Colada type person. The drink itself is ok. I thought I wouldn’t like it at all but it’s not bad. I don’t really like the aftertaste tho. The color is nice. A vibrant average black tea color – not gloomy like some Chai’s can be.
Light in Color. This is probably one of the most fragrant teas of the MoOT that I have smells so far. You can certainly smell the apples and cinnamon…smells a lot like Hot Cider. It does taste that way tho. The taste is quite fruity. Almost a bit too much for me – I prefer a tea taste with fruit undertones not a full fruit flavor with little or no tea taste. I like the smell of it but not so much on the taste. I will finish the cup but I won’t be making it a point to buy this one. It’s not terrible but it’s not wonderful either.
This brews into a yellow green colored cup. The matcha is pretty thick in the cup, but I can’t really taste much of it. That might just be because I’m not very familiar with matcha, so my taste buds arn’t up to snuff. Overall this is a nice flavor. The roasted rice flavor comes through really nicely, and makes for a really relaxing cup. I suspect that this would handle a second infusion just fine, as long as you don’t really mind that most of the matcha has been steeped away.
