New Tasting Notes
First time I tried this I used around 190 degree water. The can says to use boiling so this morning I tried it out. Previously I tasted a lot of the pomegranate but today I am getting a rose type flower flavor underneath the sweet tartness of the pomegranate. A very interesting tea.
Fantastic chinese green. From the Chunmee family or “eyebrow” meaning the tea curves at the end. This shop in Orlando is a kewl shop with its book swap and super-vegan/raw menu. They’re the only place in Florida so far i’ve been able to find this tea. I brew several pots, chill, add stevia and serve cold. Perfect antidote to the Florida humidity.
Not my favorite ginseng blend. They could have done just a simple Ginseng and Rooibos blend, but they had to add apples, oranges and a bunch of other junk to make it appeal to the kool-aid palette. Wish I hadn’t bought as much of this tea as I did. Mostly a pass.
Definitely top 3 favorite beverages. I dunno if it’s a natural trait of rooibos, but it has a naturally sweet quality to it while I drink it. I had a similar observation drinking some rooibos from Starbucks, so I’m wondering what makes it have such a sweet quality to it. In the past I’ve thrown in Splenda and some milk into this stuff, which makes it taste even better, but I really enjoy it plain too. On a scale of 1 to 10, this stuff gets a 26. It would’ve gotten 27, but it loses a point for tasting a bit weak on a 5 minute steep. I shouldn’t have to wait 6-7 minutes for such splendor! 5/5
I wasn’t able to write what I drank yestserday! I had a huge water bottle full of this – about 24oz. I love how quick it is to make since I was in a rush out this morning. I thought that using a lot of water with the matcha tasted better than using a little. Its very creamy and rich with almost a fishy scent. I’m not sure if I’m using the right words to describe it, but it was delicious!
