From Silk Road Teas

This year’s Tian Mu Qing Ding is one of our most aromatic and flavorful teas. Grown in Zhejiang Province, this prized, high mountain varietal is made of short, slender green leaves that cup to a sweet, natural taste. Our lot is organic and will provide the most discerning tea drinker a very satisfying, slightly nutty cup. Brew at water temperature of 185 degrees for 1– 2 minutes. Will yield multiple steeps.

I was surprised at how much this tasted like a Dragon Well and that the company called for 185F water, but that is what I used. Just for curiosity, I am going to try one at 175F too. It has a toasty, nutty flavor, but for less price, I preferred the Organic Lung Ching (Long Jing – Dragon Well) from this company. I did the first steep for a little over 2 minutes and the second for 3. I probably won’t order again because I just didn’t appreciate the tea better than the $2.25 an ounce Dragon Well organic.

Dragon Well is one of the best deals out there for sure! Go Organic!

Just got this one yesterday…It’s growing on me, though I’m still working on the optimum brewing time. The taste is good, slightly vegetal and nutty. A good all-around green tea.

Nutty, but not dry in your mouth. Light too! I like this stuff. It does have a hint of Dragon Well as Frank W. commented.

This was bought at a Silk Road tea tasting in Marin. At the tasting this tea was great! He demonstrated a very short steep on this one. About 10-15 seconds. Got home, and of course I can’t get it to steep perfect again. I steeped this for about 40 seconds today. It’s a light green tea with smaller leaves so the crumbs sit in my glass, which I like a lot. Not the best green, but it’s pretty good.

This tea has a nice light flavor and lovely color. I’ve tried it at various steep temps. It’s really only good for 2 steeps. Maybe I’m steeping the first pot too long? Normally I do the first one around 1min and 35 secs and second steep around 2mins30 secs or more. The second pot never seems to be as strong in flavor. I guess I prefer a stronger green tea. I will be going through this bag pretty quick, I’m drinking too much tea =D
Although I expected a little more from this tea. I do not think I will order this tea again, but it was worth a try. Overall it’s a good green tea.

A very mild and easy to drink green tea. More fragrant that flavorful. Good for about 4-5 steeps at 25-35 seconds per steep with 160-170 degree water.
