New style white tea with bergamot and basil — and it works!

Revisiting this old friend. This time I made the mistake of trying this at a slightly lower temperature – 65C – and bleurgh. No flavour at all. Back to the usual brewing method next time!

I’m not generally the biggest fan of Ceylon black teas, but this one is solid and the best I’ve had.

I used this tea in the inaugural brew for my first white porcelain gaiwan and it was incredible. I’d never coaxed that much character out of a teach. Rich, earthy, filled with dew and fresh juice, a bit of straw, very light bamboo and charcoal, with a nice planty edge. And so brisk and rich.

Refreshing. Pleasant. Nice!

Getting low on my black teas…ek…this is a nice cup when you are looking for a Black Tea – not a lot of fuss or extras…tastee!

A bit weak when prepared according to the packet instructions. Although maybe I just like my tea particularly strong…

Although a little pricey, it goes a long way. I always have this tea on hand, and often make it for guests. This was my “gateway tea” – there was no turning back to supermarket teas after this one.

The packet suggests brewing this very lightly, but I’ve used a few more leaves, steeped for slightly longer and it’s wonderful.

i love this tea. only took one sip of this one to convince me it would have a permanent place in my tea cupboard. its the perfect dessert tea.

I brew this one nice and light. This morning 1g in the Gaiwan, boiling water – rinse, 20 secs, 1 min, 1 min 15…

this one is the best smelling green tea ive smelt. but as for taste its nice but not as good as the smell.

VERY expansive when brewed. One teaspoon will expand to fill a 1/3 cup strainer.
An excellent Earl Grey. Decaffination hasn’t seemed to take any of the flavor, and of course double bergamot is never a bad thing, is it?
This is a good late night treat.
