Had a cup of this tea this afternoon with some crackers and cheese. It was a wonderful pairing. I don’t drink this tea that often but sometimes the bold smokiness really calls me. Today was one of those days and it was a spectacular cup of tea.

Smells like wood smoke. Delicious. I got 4 infusions out of it, and the smoky flavour held out quite well for the first three. The smokiness isn’t overpowering though, there’s a good balance between smoke and tea flavours.

It hadn’t occured to me to try multiple infusions for lapsangs. I shall try that – thanks for the tip.

I had the last war tea this evening. I have been drinking less tea because it is so hot these days, but sitting outside at 10.30pm with a cup of war tea was splendid. I am wondering whether to get loose leaf lapsang souchong at some point because i’m sure it’ll be better

The packet suggests brewing this very lightly, but I’ve used a few more leaves, steeped for slightly longer and it’s wonderful.
