126 Tasting Notes
A co-worker got a couple of those subscription boxes, one that gives you food from around the world. This tea was in her France box. I was the happy recipient because she doesn’t like tea (I don’t hold that against her). :-)
Such a nice floral, especially for a cherry blossom tea because usually I can’t detect any cherry blossom. But this one had such a nice scent and flavor that lasted through many infusions, I was pleasantly surprised by this one!
I must have steeped this too much, which I normally end up doing with my tea anyway because I am easily distracted by shiny things. Good thing I like tannins! :-)
But oversteeped, this tastes like bitter melon, which I love, so I’m happy with that. I’m going to have to pay careful attention to this one to get it steeped right. Iced though, I could taste some different notes besides the bitter, although I’m not sure what yet. There is a fullness to it. I’m going to have to report back about this one after I coax some other flavors out of it!
I ran out of LS a long while back and I have been meaning to get more, but then I get distracted by shiny things and noises. So seriously, it’s been at least a couple of years without LS.
But now that I have it again, I remember that the smell is so soothing, and I get a big smile on my face, and I remember that I love this tea more than my children.
So sad that Zen Tara is closing, but happy I got this in my final order from them!!
I’m having a little of this to try to get rid of a lingering cough. I know ginger is usually for stummys (and I have had a little of that too), but I thought the spice might help with my congestion.
This is sweeter than I remember, did they change the formula? Picking up much more licorice root than before, which might also be good for my throat.
Overall, I still enjoy it!
I don’t like roses. But since I have this sample, I thought I would give it a shot.
Smells like roses, even small rose petals in the tea. Tastes like it smells. Tried it hot and iced. Tastes the same.
I still don’t like roses. I’m sure this is good for people who like roses. The black base doesn’t overpower the floral, perhaps tones it down some, because I can only imagine if you steeped only rose petals, it would taste different than this. If someone loved roses, I would totally recommend this to them, and gladly hand them my cup! :-)
Tastes more like a rooibos than a puerh, I think because the sweeter notes mask the earthy flavor the of the puerh, which I never imagined could happen! Still, a nice sweet flavor, coconutty, not tasting fennel. Sometimes I get a “wine” kind of note to it, like the assam cabernet tea I have, so like a nice red wine note. Good iced! It’s been a good tea to come home to and have a big glass iced, and it hasn’t been keeping me up at night. Almost like a dessert tea!
Awesome! Maybe every box will contain some good tea!
Ashmanra, so far every box she has gotten has! Her Japan box had blueberry matcha! Score! :-)
