1629 Tasting Notes
This one was not like I expected it to be. There wasn’t a smell to this tea, but I think it was because this package was mixed in with the other samples. After I steeped it, the leaves smelled very vegetal and delicious and buttery. In the cup, however, the taste didn’t translate in quite the same way. It tasted almost like…. floral-y, slightly sweet, slightly creamy, cardboard…. yes… cardboard. I don’t know why it tasted like that to me. Do I have to change my steeping parameters? Never has an oolong, especially a milk oolong, disappointed me. This may be the first. But I have more one more sampling session. Any suggestions?
On another note, I am upset about where I’m living. I’m on a 2 level apartment complex and I live on the first floor with my husband and 2 cats. Some strange person came to our window and banged on it REALLY hard and scared my husband. He didn’t do anything :/ But its frustrating that these things happen. He experienced racism from someone else here too. It is crazy, and this place is supposed to be a nice area…
Anyway, I’ll just drink more tea.
Preparation
I also didn’t get what I was hoping for with this tea and was really hoping you would enjoy it more. At least I know it wasn’t just me but tea itself.
As for the home situation, I am really sorry that happened. It’s so ridiculous that anyone still has to deal with such behaviors. I remember having to deal with such as a child and they don’t go away as an adult but as an adult we should be able to make the decision to not harm any human as we are all just that, humans. I hope my daughter never has to deal with such behaviors. It’s not a conversation I am looking forward too, especially since it isn’t something I can really explain. I just don’t want her innocences lost. She still sees the world as everyone being the same. The way it should be. You keep drinking that tea.
I really appreciate all the samples. I was jumping up and down like a little child when I got it! My husband was laughing at me! Thank you for your kind words. It is ridiculous to experience these things, but it happens. I hope your child never has to deal with these issues. :) Cheers!
I think this is the perfect tea to make homemade chai! I love Assams! This one is a pretty basic one. I usually don’t steep them for a long time unless I want it strong. I added milk and sugar to this. Great tea overall. Pretty basic. :)
Preparation
WOW!! This is fantastic! I had this after dinner, and the coconut scent is everywhere. I LOVE coconut! I love pina colada! I also sense the pineapple flavor in this as well. I love the shape of honeybush with all the little wood-like shavings, large white coconut flakes, and chunks of pineapple. This is a great blend! I will def be making a purchase in the future! WOO!! :)
Preparation
I had this during work yesterday. The brew is a light brown almost honey colored liquor. It smells faintly of apples, but this is what I expect from an apple tea! DELICIOUS! Crispy tasting as well. I love apples. It is naturally sweet as well. Good tea overall! I don’t think I’d buy it, but its a great and fairly accurate apple flavor!
I opened this up for lunch today. I love the nutty but fresh smell coming from the bag. There were super small almost kirara rice like seeds. They are round and remind me of tiny chickpeas. These were mixed in with bright green stems, which resemble kukicha. MAN, I really miss kukicha! I need to make an order for that as soon as I’ve finished a few more teas. mMMm… This one was nice and light. It is different. I like the nutty and toasty flavor and it is light as well. Delicious! This isn’t bitter at all.
Preparation
I saw the description of this and was a bit scared. Astringency? Anyway, I took a sip of this and this DEFINITELY needed milk and sugar. It was too astringent for me, but I loved it with the additives. It was delicious. Nutty and bitter but the bitterness was gone when I added milk. This tea was also aromatic with a slight fruitiness to it.
Preparation
I won a sample of this from iheartteas – Rachana. I was happy to have another sample of it and wanted to start with a tea I knew about already. I added agave syrup to this, and it was delicious! I like adding syrup to this more than adding sugar because agave has this unexplainable, delicious flavor to it.
