YES! Just finished my exam! Step 2 is complete!

I finally got around to opening and trying out the chai sampler from Adagio… starting with this one – Green Chai aka Bengal Green Chai. One thing I noticed about most chai blends is the amount of spices in the mix. I am almost tempted to pick them out and put them aside to use on different occasion. You can bring out so much flavor with not so many spices. This one had a decent amount.

I love how the dry leaves are rolled. It is very pretty. Very spicy – cinnamon or cloves. I can smell it from across the room. No need for sugar. Next time I’ll try it with sugar and/or milk! I love to experiment. _

I’m trying out all the teas from The Republic of Tea Experience Sampler Cube. This one is delicious. The vanilla stands out more in this blend than it does in Adagio’s. I like it. It smells just like Adagio’s too. I like this one.

Not so bad. Pretty good. I got this from a swap off of teachat. It looks like houjicha but mostly twigs and stems. It smells and tastes nutty, a little smokey, and very light. It is a milder houjicha… I have to try this again another time, but so far so good.

My last sample of this – gone! I am thinking about buying this as soon as I’ve finished off more teas. I still have a long wishlist!

Delicious! My boyfriend shared a cup with me. We both agree – its great! Still remains as my favorite from RoT.

I wanted to try this out so I bought a box at the grocery store nearby. I can’t rate it this time since I used it to make spiced chai the way I like to make it – on the stove. I am studying for my step 2 board exam, which I’m taking on Monday and needed a break. Chai – my comfort beverage of choice!

This is exactly what I needed.

This was f a n t a s t i c! I added 2 heaping tablespoons of this blend. From the box (its a cute box IMO) it smelled like it would be strong and possibly bitter alone… the leaves are all cut up really small – fannings? CTC? Is that what its called? This blend turned out darker than any of chais that I’ve made in the past. It was not bitter! So delicious! Great tea for chai. Well… I think strong tea is great for chai. It balances out all the spices. _

If I were to try this plain, I would probably add half a teaspoon and steep for a short amount of time. Til next time!
