This is my cheap and dirty bagged tea of choice. Minty, clean tasting, noticeably alleviates indigestion. I usually put 2 bags in one mug because I find it otherwise kind of weak. Stands up well to lazy steeping, i.e. pouring whatever-temperature-is-in-the-kettle and letting it steep anywhere from 4 to 10 minutes. You do have to drink it while it’s still hot though, or it starts tasting a bit hollow and gritty.

Pretty grassy and mild green tea. I can taste the feijoa a bit as I swallow, and afterwards. You will probably only recognize it if you’ve had a real feijoa before, it’s an interesting taste! I quite like it, though my mother hates it. Haha. I’d ask for a sample first to see if it’s for you, and it also comes in a mini tin for home-sampling.

Meh. Surprisingly tasteless considering how minty and flavorful their peppermint tea is. I’ll try steeping it a long time tomorrow but judging by existing reviews, I’m not hopeful!

Minty! Easy to have any time of day. This is my favourite tea when I don’t feel like steeping loose leaf.

drank Matcha by t Leaf T

I’m rating this so highly because I’m a coffee person more than a tea person – and a creamy, bitter dose of caffeine to me is delectable. This is the only matcha I’ve had so I have no basis of comparison, but it’s bitter and grassy in the best way possible. Add a little brown sugar and cold milk and you have my new favourite iced drink!

My first cup was kind of bitter and left an unpleasant aftertaste, which was disappointing! I was so excited to receive my 52teas package! Determined that it was my own fault, I tried manually boiling the tea in a pot so I could remove it from heat right before boiling, then let steep for 4-5 min. I’m not sure if this is what did it, but now it’s delicious haha!

My sense of taste is famously poor because I can’t smell, but even I could taste the cinnamon, and it feels full and buttery in your mouth. I can’t wait to try it with a little brown sugar and cream tomorrow. :-)

I’ll rate this after I try it tomorrow with milk and sugar, but so far it is malty and delightful! I don’t taste the chocolate so much, but my sense of taste is poor.

Yum! Very light and smooth. It certainly is neat watching the balls unfurl and colour the water, especially in a double walled glass tea cup. Unfortunately it’s too expensive for me (I got a sample), though the number of times I was able to re-steep this made me consider puchasing.

I haven’t had much green tea, but this was flavorful and smoky, while still being quite smooth. I found if I steeped it at 80 celsius, though, I had to steep much longer than I expected to get a colour and taste out of it.

drank Creme Brulee by T2

Maybe it’s because I can’t smell but I didn’t taste anything different from in this tea, especially not anything resembling creme brulee. I ended up adding frothed milk and sugar which it took very well to, but it’s not a very special dessert tea. I also found it had a strange aftertaste I had to wash out.

Drinkable, but disappointing. I’ll brew it again longer and shorter (apparently its optimal steep window is narrow), along with some plain black tea to compare it to, and write another note. Thankfully I just got a free sample packet, which the lady was very happy to provide!

I am a tea newbie living in New Zealand. :-) I often take my tea with milk and sweeteners as I’m not quite accustomed to the warm, hollow taste of plain tea yet. Just like coffee, though, I’m confident I’ll get there haha!

I also have no sense of smell (anosmia) so unfortunately I cannot include those in my notes.
