Pass the Stash TTB 2
I’m just not having luck with tea today. Maybe my taste buds are broken. I’ve been really enjoying white teas lately but this one was more vegetal than I expected. Reminded me more of a green tea than a white.
From Pass the Stash TTB 2
I was really excited to try this one to compare to the perfect blend blueberry pancakes from DavidsTea that I recently received.
This one is much more subtle with a heavier black tea background. I really had to search for the maple & buttery flavors.
I plan on doing as mj did and drink the darjeelings in chronological order. First up – first flush. This tea was greener than I thought it would be. Smallish green and brown leaves. They really bloom up when they steep. The tea ends up being a deep yellow color. It’s a little vegetal and bitter. Reminds me of a mild green tea.
I received a package from Marzipan the same day as the Butiki TTB2. I have quite a bit of tea I want to try from that but this tea cut in front of the line. It did not dissapoint. I gave it a whif while it was steeping and it smelled of fresh raspberries. It tasted just like raspberries and a little of white tea. I might try steeping it a little longer next time to help the white tea shine through. I don’t get a lot of pastry flavor but I bet if I add sugar it would taste very much like a sugary treat.

Preparation
My first from the Butiki TTB2. I’ve never had a purple tea before and it’s definitely something different. It tasted like a mix of green and black teas. It gets vegetal from green and bitter from black. If I didn’t have so many other teas to try I would definitely try this with different temperatures and times.
I love a good lavender earl grey. I grabbed this one out of my earl grey stash today and although I love lavender this might have over done it a bit for me. It’s very heavy on the lavender. So much that it has a bit of a lavender bathroom smell to it. I can taste the earl grey in the after taste but otherwise it’s overtaken.
