I happened upon this one at my local tea shop this afternoon. I’ve been experiencing the GI joys of diverticulitis and recently read that green tea can be helpful for that condition. Green tea seems to be quite the panacea, effective for a multitude of miseries.
What a wonderful medicinal – No spoonful of sugar needed to help this medicine go down!

The dry leaf smell is sweet and mildly floral. As the tea steeps the aroma is very strongly evocative of oolong. The flavor too suggests oolong, along with floral notes of chrysanthemums and wildflower blossoms with a bit of honey. There is a mild vegetal note – Just enough to remind you that it’s a green tea you’re drinking.
I was a little leery about the 190F brewing temperature, but no bitterness. I used 3 generous teaspoonfuls for a 16 ounce pot and steeped for four minutes.

Yunnan Orchid Green is a lovely green tea – One of the very best I’ve had. My tummy feels better already.

“Anyone who has used that comforting phrase ‘a nice cup of tea’ invariably means Indian tea.”
- George Orwell

Darjeeling is the tea that inspired me to begin my beautiful journey through the wide world of tea and will always reign supreme in my tea pantry! My first tea love, so to speak. Nothing beats a truly great Darjeeling such as a good muscatel second flush. Also, Autumn flush Darjeeling, I believe, has been greatly under appreciated. Darjeeling autumn flush Gopaldhara Red Thunder Gold that I purchased through What-Cha is the best tea of any kind I have ever had the pleasure of drinking! I am most definitely a Darjeeling dude!

Other than my much beloved Darjeeling, teas that I especially enjoy are fine estate Assam teas such as Assam Dikom Estate or fine Ceylon estate teas – low, mid and high grown.

Besides my much beloved Indian and Ceylon teas I must say that I adore a really good Chinese Keemun and is an another tea that is always stocked in my tea pantry. Formosa Oolong is another favorite.

As for scented teas, I have a great love for Earl Grey which is one of my main go to teas. Other favorites are rose, jasmine, violet, black currant, vanilla, almond, caramel, and spice.

I have a fondness for most herbal teas – A complete rooibos fanatic! I’m very fond of camomile too. However, I absolutely detest hibiscus!

Black teas are my main go to teas. Earl Grey tea makes splendid iced tea! I enjoy green tea too and I have to admit that green teas make great iced tea as well.

My favorite guilty tea pleasure is Darjeeling with milk and honey as King Charles III takes his. As a vegetarian who is mostly vegan, I use plant milk. I can’t give up my raw honey, though.

I try to purchase organic tea whenever possible.
