This tea was another discovery from the advent calendar (totally ordering another one later this year, best tea investment I’ve made in a while!). Was a bit reluctant to try it at first, as I’m not a huge fan of nuts usually. Well! This tea confirmed my suspicion it was the texture of nuts, not the taste I usually don’t like. It was so delicious! And helped fight off the sore throat I got just before Christmas! (no, not placebo it works dammit!). I liked the walnut taste, and the white tea base set off the other flavours nicely. Was very calming on my throat and didn’t need extra sweetening (which is good as sugar is bad for a dry inflamed throat). Definitely going on my reorder list.

Unexpectedly enjoyable. A lavender tea? It sounded quite weird before I tried it, but I’d learned to trust in David!

Turns out its very comforting, just like the scent of lavender. But I think the taste comes more form the rooibos and coconut, it tastes nothing like I imagine a sprig of lavender would! All in all a very enjoyable tea.

I wanted to love this one. Like, if I was on a desert island this is the tea I’d take love it. Like, I vow to take this tea above all others for the rest of my days. And in theory, I should’ve. I’m an earl grey fan. And I like berries. And I’d previously tried and liked both Davids earl greys and berry teas. And this one smells truly amazing in the wall tin/bag. Just stunning. But see, I’ve gone through my 50g bag I actually bought in person in a shop, and I’m always left wanting. There has been a bitter aftertaste with every mouthful of this tea I’ve tried, and I’ve varied the temperature and steep time, changed the level of sugar/agave I’ve added (yes, tried to get both to work), and nothing. Well, nothing a amazing as this tea smells (dry and steeped). It’s mightily puzzling and disappointing. Will just have to stick with my other earl grey faves, Cream of EG and Countess of Seville.

Another advent calendar tea. I very much enjoyed this one. Tastes exactly like a mint slice biscuit, but without the guilt! A very enjoyable cup!

Had this as an online sample, and in the advent calendar. I’ve now tried it hot and cold. I enjoyed it hot, but it really comes to life cold. The fruit flavours are much fuller when iced. I also found that a large cup of this iced helped with dehydration as promised (but that might’ve just been the hangover talking…).

As a hot drink I think it’s a deceiving tea. As a cold one, it’s marvelous!

How do you revolutionise tea making? By using the Steeper – tea brewing is quick, easy, and mess free, and you get to watch your gorgeous leaves unfurl and dance through the clear BPA free plastic! Just a genius device, and the joy of watching the liquid disappear into your cup never gets old ( or I’m just very easily entertained!). Thank you DavidsTea and international shipping!

Isn’t it great?? I got mine one week before x-mas and it definitely doesn’t get old! I guess I’m also very easily entertained!!

TassieTeaGirl

I’ve had mine since late September. Just can’t get enough!

It looks so good going into double walled glasses too!

Was quite underwhelmed by this one. The smell was amazing, but the taste did not match my expectations once brewed. Couldn’t place my finger on the problem, but thinking it might be the yoghurt drops. These work much better in something like DavidsTea’s southern belle than this one. Won’t repurchase.

My Mum doesn’t like Strawberries & Cream either – you might want to try Strawberry Sensation by T2 it’s not my cup of tea because it’s not as sweet as Strawberries & Cream and lacks the ‘creaminess’ but I find people are searching for a strawberry tea really like it. It’s quite nice iced too.

TassieTeaGirl

Might have a look! t that one when I’m next at my local T2 stockist. Thanks!

So I tried this again (can’t say I give up easily!), iced this time, and I think I’ve worked out my issue. Its the hibiscus. I usually like it in teas, but I think this time its wildly out of proportion with the strawberries. Will try Strawberry Sensation when their store opens in my city next weekend!!!

drank Santa's Secret by DAVIDsTEA

I really enjoy this one! It’s a nice fun tea for Christmas with the candy canes in it. The minty taste is strong when it first hits your mouth, but doesn’t linger too much, so is quite enjoyable. I often find when eating actual candy canes that the peppermint taste just gets stuck in your mouth and throat, and after a while it isn’t enjoyable – not the case with Santa’s Secret. A fun addition for Christmas.

My taste buds and lemongrass teas are not happy bedfellows.

That is all.

Bio

I remember getting my first cup of tea at about the age of 8. Just a standard run of the mill black, with some sugar and milk to make it palatable to an 8year old. But a love was born and I’ve never looked back!

I’ve always appreciated the quality of loose leaf, and thanks to the discovery of the fanatastic gadgets at DavidsTea while on holiday, the tea obsession has grown! Is it weird to be ordering tea and having it sent half way around the world?

I’d love to do some tea swaps with people to try new teas. I have a bit of a DavidsTea range for any Australians interested in trying some DT goodness minus international postage fees!

Ive just started working at The Art of Tea , a small Tasmanian company. They dont currently ship overseas, but im more than happy to arrange swaps with people. their full product listing can be found here: http://www.artoftea.com.au/. (December 2012).
