154 Tasting Notes
I received a few packets of this tea from my friend. The smell is great and reminds me of almond cookies and marzipan. The packet recommends 160cc of water which is 5.4 fl oz with each packet. I put about 9 ounces in because these types of teas (milky powder teas) are usually concentrated. The taste was very weak and the powder was chunky and didn’t seem to dissolve no matter how much I stirred.
I will try this again at the recommended ~6 ounce water ratio, but there is a lot of powder in the packet and I don’t have high hopes since the liquid was very bland.
I can never get the tea to taste the same way that it does in ths store, drats! I think I need to start putting more tea in (?) I played around with the sugar amount today and it didn’t seem to make a difference, so I think I’ll try making it more concentrated. Though, this already seemed like there were too many tea leaves and not enough tea! I drank two of these and I’m not really more awake (supposed to be the same amount of caffeine as coffee!)
Got this in the mail as part of the lupicia newsletter program. I was hesitant at first since fruit teas usually smell great but taste bland. After brewing it I’m definitely going to order more! This is honestly one of my new favorite teas, which is weird since I don’t like green tea or peaches.
This tea tastes so juicy and fresh and is naturally sweet so it needs no sugar. The green tea itself is natural and clean tasting and has no grassy undertones—more similar to a lighter oolong or a white tea. I definitely recommend it!
Tea for today was the (now discontinued) Roze Marzipan. 1tsp tea, few kernels sugar. The tea smelled absolutely delicious, but the rose was overpowering. I could smell the marzipan, but couldn’t taste it at all. The person that sold me the tea said her favorite part of the tea was the candied lavender pieces, and that she would spend all day in the store just picking out the lavender and eating them. She gave my friend and I each a piece and took one for herself. No wonder I didn’t get any lavender in my bag! I think the candied lavender would have really helped the flavor of the tea. I’m going to try to brew this for only a few minutes (as opposed to keeping it in the tumbler), add a little more sugar (I was told the lavender would naturally sweeten the tea, but seeing as how I didn’t get any…), and decant into a regular cup. Let’s see how that works.
