I love the scent of jasmine, both in perfume and in real life. And even for me, the first whiff of the unbrewed tea was overwhelmingly floral. Another reviewer likened the aroma to Juicy Fruit, and that’s about right.

Luckily, after brewing, the jasmine settled down and played better with the flavor of green tea. The tea has a nice sweetness, a very pleasant lingering finish, and a silky mouthfeel. In short, it’s a lovely jasmine tea. I will be curious to try Harney & Sons’ Jasmine tea to compare and see how it compares on quality/price ratio.

Malty with notes of bread, yams, raisins, and a hint of tobacco leaf, this black tea is delicious. (For beer lovers, the flavor reminds me of a Belgian Quad or Strong Dark.) Adding a bit of sugar enhances the fruit flavors. It’s my first Golden Monkey but definitely not my last.

My first time tasting a milky oolong. The liquor is a pale gold. The strongest note in the first steep is that of hot milk, which is very pleasant and provides a lingering finish. There is a hint of stone fruit as well. It’s only slightly sweet and not at all vanillic, unlike cream versions of teas I’ve tasted. In the second steep (4 minutes), the milk flavor was more subtle, allowing the green oolong to come through more.
