drank Almond by Adagio Teas

Agree with the other tasting notes; this does go really bitter really quickly if you’re not careful; just barely dunking the leaves is the best strategy..

i totally agree with you here.

drank Roastaroma by Celestial Seasonings

Stressful days so far this week, and more ahead; woke up with heart beating fast as a hamster (I seem to have a rodent thing going this week) and concluded more caffeine probably wasn’t smart. This at least gives the strong taste illusion of something with a kick. More dark than spicy. It’ll do since I’m, unfortunately, in gulp-and-go mode instead of sip-and-savor.

drank Dragon Eyes by In Pursuit of Tea
3010 tasting notes

Bought this about a year ago and because I wasn’t enchanted with it, it got pushed to the back of a shelf. In Pursuit of Tea has evidently replaced this with a red lychee variety. But there’s still four ounces of it looking me in the face that needs to be consumed. It’s a black tea with a fruit scent and flavor that reminds me of peaches and pears when they get a little gamey in the summer. Not rotten fruit, just…uh…mature.

drank Formosa Oolong by Culinary Teas
3010 tasting notes

Opened this to compare to my ace-in-the-hole health food store cheapie oolong. It’s a little sweeter, a little more golden, and I’d almost swear to some raisiny stuff happening in the background. Makes me feel a little upscale on a decidedly NOT upscale morning.

drank Te' de Canela by Te Duran
3010 tasting notes

This was a tuck-in in a Christmas box from a friend; what little surfing I’ve done indicates that Cafe Duran is actually a Panamanian coffee company. This is a rather plain, barky cinnamon bagged tea. Not sweet, not hot, but not horrible.

drank Mayan Cocoa Spice by Yogi Tea
3010 tasting notes

This is the first and only Yogi tea I’ve tried that isn’t annoyingly, cloyingly licorice-y. As a matter of fact, licorice doesn’t even show up on the ingredient list. The sweetening evidently comes from stevia, chicory and cinnamon. Not bad straight, no milk. Worth finishing the cup, but don’t know that I’d do a rerun.

Jillian

Is it quite spicy?

gmathis

I’d give it a 7 on a 1-10 scale.

Bought cheaply and unromantically for the sole purpose of dissolving throat gunk after a weekend of flaming tonsils. Brews up a darker brown than other peppermint herbals, but nothing to complain about. It’s mint and taste will probably improve when I don’t have to use break room tap water.

Heyes

infusions were once used as much for the medicinal properties as much as their enlightentainment.

Brewed strong on purpose; drinking medicinally to chase off a bad case of cruds. Like drinking a healthy serving of vegetables.

drank Silver Rain by The Republic of Tea
3010 tasting notes

This like the song “The Cat Came Back” … “the tea just wouldn’t go away…” I’m bound and determined to finish the canister, and every time I think I’m on the last spoonful, there’s more. I doubled up on quantity and got the water to turn a rather designer-beige color; maybe a little almond scent to it, but taste? Nope! I think I may see if co-worker wants to fertilize her African violet with the rest.

LENA

Oooh, yikes! I have yet to be blown away with a Republic of Tea product. One more to stay away from.

drank Irish Breakfast by Twinings

Has been my ace-in-the-hole office tea this month. Retains a little muscle with additional steepings.
