251 Tasting Notes
I’ve gotten a bit behind due to work and such, so I’m playing catch up with some reviewing today. This is a good standard tea. It reminds me some of the Prince Wales blend from Twinnings. It is a blend of several different kinds of teas, so the leaves are pretty non-homogeneous. The tea steeps up to a nice dark brown. To me, this tsates like a classic tea, and I enjoy it with a dash of soy creamer and sweetener.
This is the kind of tea I might order along with other teas to get free shipping. I like it, but if it wasn’t in the cabinet, I wouldn’t miss it. I’ll probably use it up pretty quickly, since it’s something you can reach for when you’re not in the mood for flavored teas, and I seem a little bit overwhelmed by the flavored black teas I have in the cabinet right now. I like them, but not everyday.
I had to go to a workshop today at the Orlando Convention Center, and they had a coffee shop there that carried this tea. While the tea was brewing, it smelled just like the cinnamon brooms they have in the grocery store in the fall. I had mine sweetened, with just a little bit of skim milk. It was deliciously spicy and hot. I’ll be adding this to the shopping list. I couldn’t really taste much tea, but the cinnamon was so good!!
i seriously think they need to rename this one to Ginger Tangerine. This is definitely ginger. Not the sweet pickled sushi ginger kind of vibe. This is the hot, I ate too many ginger altoids kind of ginger. (I must admit that I do that. I love ginger.) It has a nice hot ginger aftertaste that lingers. I think this would be a great tea to drink for a sore throat or an upset stomach. I’ve been having my spring time (Florida) allergy attacks, and this is clearing up everything beautifully. While this blend does have hibiscus and licorice in it, they are overpowered by the ginger. I do taste some citrus notes, but they don’t have the same punch as the ginger.
Just in case you weren’t sure about the ginger, the fact that the word ginger appears in this review 11 times should be a clue.
I think my husband would like this one – he loves ginger! I make him ginger beer in the summer (basically – in a blender – ginger lime juice and water – it’s STRONG!!!)
