251 Tasting Notes
I’m staying home from work today, sick with a cold. This combination of lemon myrtle, ginger, rooibos, and honeybush sounded like just the thing to clear my head!! The rooibos and honeybush are the stars here, and the lemon myrtle and ginger give it a nice kick!! This is definitely something that I will be keeping around my tea cupboard. I enjoy it greatly and it is very refreshing. I’m thinking that this will be a great iced tea once summer is here.
Another tea that you can drink on a daily basis. The flavor is light, but refreshing. There are some honey notes and these are nicely enhanced by the addition of a little sweetener. Another winner and one I will probably rebuy when the tea cupboard starts to get a little bare.
This is the kind of tea you can drink for about a week straight and just not get tired of it! I enjoyed it quite a bit with just a little vanilla soy creamer and some sweetener. It’s just so good. I drank it while I was on a hiatus from steepster. (Life just got a little too busy!!) I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys unflavored black teas. It really is delicious.
Yum!! I had this tea hot with vanilla soy ceamer for breakfast. It has a nice sweet flavor that asserts itself well with the creamer. BUT—I liked it even better iced! You can get a lot of infusions out of this tea, I made the third one iced and it was quite good. It has a cooling kind of aftertaste that suites iced tea well.
Definitely a keeper!
I’ve developed the habit of drinking tea in the afternoon. It doesn’t seem to be keeping me from sleeping, the way drinking coffee in the afternoon did, so I’m thinking this is a good thing. In the afternoon, I tend to gravitate toward green teas. I’m not sure why, it just seems right. Yesterday, I decided to try the rose hip green tea that I ordered a few months back from Lupicia on a whim.
When this tea brews, the color is predictable and yet I was surprised at the pinkish purple brew that developed. There was a definite greenish overtone visible, but color-wise, the rose hips won. To my palate, the taste was not overrun by the hibiscus. (Indeed, even though hibiscus is in the description, I was not able to see any in the tea itself.) The brew had a very tart taste, but it was more of a berry taste, so I’m presuming it was the rose hips. There was a definite grassy undertone from the green tea, and it grounded the experience somehow.
This tea needs to be tried iced, and I have some plans for that up my sleeves. I enjoyed the color and the taste yesterday, it was a very soothing experience. I’m giving it a rating, and it won’t be low, but I think I need to try this one more than once to decide on how I really feel about it. It’s so unlike anything I’ve tried before that the initial taste surprised me.
Sound really good
