230 Tasting Notes
Mmmmm! Thank-you QuiltGuppy for this one!
I have finally had some and it is SO TASTY! I have only sat down with it once, but once is enough to fall in love.
Next time I will pay more attention to details and write it down somewhere so that I can give people a better idea of my experience.
I’ll say it again and again and again… This ROCKS as a Latte!
Mmmm! I have had this twice in the past week and it will be a sad day when it is all gone! I will have to get some Southern Belle to see if it will fill the void of this tea once it is all gone… hmmm…
I will happily add the Southern Belle I have here to your package, I’m not a fan and would hate to see it go to waste!
really?! So exciting! I will finally have money at the end of the month to send you your package! My brother is going back to school and asked me to move in with him while I am “healing” and at least he will share the bills! YAY ME!
I really like Souther Belle. But you can only steep it the 4 minutes if having it hot. Any more and it seems to turn the yogurt. Haven’t tried it iced.
Glad your brother is helping you out. Hope you 2 get along. I couldn’t live with any of the my brothers. It was hard enough growing up with them.
I’m happy to send it to someone who will appreciate it. Don’t worry about sending my package any time soon, I’m happy to wait until finances are better. You’ve been so great about waiting for ours to improve, the least I could do is return the favor! Be sure to let me know your address as soon as you’re settled, though, so I can get your package of goodies on the way!
When I was moving from Tennessee to Canada to marry my wife, I lived with my brother for a few months in New York, about 20 minutes away from the US/Canadian border. He was wonderful and supportive and the very best brother a girl could ask for. He was the first person I came out to, and when I was hurting deeply over the rejection of my marriage by my older sister, he stood up for me. He never asked for rent or money of any kind, letting me save up for my big move. The heck of the thing is, as children we seriously tried to kill each other. We hated each other. Now he’s my best friend…and new loose tea convert! Funny how things work out.
Oops! I think I neglected to watch this one while it steeped! It was still incredibly fruity and floral despite the fact that it was slightly bitter.
I will miss this one, it was a green tea I actually enjoyed. Thanks QuiltGuppy for the sample!!
Preparation
So much better as a latte!
Something of an “emancipation” latte – I had this when I realised it was time to move on.
I remember the first time I had this tea I was upset at how strong it was (the guy behind the counter put two scoops into my t-sak) this time as a latte it was perfect. Danielle knows what she is doing.
Is she the one with dreads or the geeky glasses? I see them the most, though I have seen a few others. There was one girl there that was amazing…she started at Hillside and then went downtown. I don’t know anyone’s names there though.
Danielle is the British lady, Skyla has the dreads and there’s two girls with glasses, either Bre or Emily. And Danielle is the manager of Johnson Street so you should see her only there :)
Gotcha! I think I know who you mean, though I haven’t seen her there the last few times I have been in. I’ll keep an eye out for her next time I am there.
I love the girl with dreads! She was the first person I talked to the first time I went to DAVIDs and she was so helpful!! I was hooked!!
Well this tea is MUCH better as a latte!
I remember having this tea plain, as a take away tea and I promptly threw it out! It had a “burn and astringency” that I could not handle. Since trying it again as a latte I am sold that this tea is what a Fall Latte should taste like!
Have you tried making this at home? I find that most teas I take away from DT I don’t care for, but when I buy some and try at home, I love them.
I have time for an Oolong this morning, and the last of this sample is the perfect addition to the morning. I hate waking up early, but that seems to be my lot in life right now.
I always love the lemon mertyle in this tea, but I have a feeling that the murtyel to oolong ration is so disproportionate that I might be left a little unimpressed this morning.
and I am left a little unimpressed this morning. My water was slightly too hot, and the oolong leaves opened too fast this time. Oh and all I can taste is hot lemon water. SNAP! I should have purchased more of this oolong first. But at least my one good nostril does not smell “wet dog” it smells “lemon”!!
