230 Tasting Notes
This was my “to go” tea today, I wish I had had the foresight to bring a container to keep the leaves in, so that I could have infused them again. That being said this tea that “smells like Christmas” was a little over steeped but I don’t think that will change my opinion enough to take this tea off my shopping list.
This tea with some steamed milk, would really make a delightful treat on a cool fall afternoon.
Thank-you honey for buying this one for me!!!!! :D Even if it did get over steeped, next time it will be AWESOME!
Oh …. My… GAWD!!! I ordered this today during Brunch at White Spot and nearly died in my seat! I am excited to say that the waitress was so kind to constantly refill my little teapot with hot water over and over and over again! It was not until the third refill that I noticed the taste start to fade!
I added a little cream to this tea and it was like drinking a vanilla bean cheese cake! All I can say is I will be hunting despretly for this tea on shelves everywhere… or begging my hubby to order it online once the Postal Strike is over with!
So good, SO GOOD! but I might be biased!!
I just took the time to look at the scores and wow, it does not fair well at all. I am glad I was “overly” happy with it.
Oh my word, that sounds awesome! Have you, by any chance, tried the vanilla nilgiri from Chi of Tea (the one which is sadly now out of stock cry sob )? If so, how do you feel it compares to this one?
Smells delicious! we shall see, we shall see!!
Later…
I have to say if I had had some milk to steam this would make the tastiest before bed treat! But without steamed milk this was still a tasty treat. I have not had many Rooibos, so I do not have a lot to base my opinion of this tea on, but it is a beautiful colour and 4 tea spoons infused nicely into an 8 cup botum full of water to make a delight pot of tea to share with my Hubby (a must since he was kind enough to purchase the tea for me)
He enjoyed it although his comment was: “It tastes like tea”, umm thanks for the imput honey! :D
Ummm, not really my thing.
I love the way the leaves smell, and the guy who was doing samples today must have figured out by now that the odds of my making a purchase from what I taste is relatively high (not only that but I usually get 100g right away)
Although it is not my thing, I am keeping it on my shopping list, because I have a feeling that this tea will make a great edition to my birthday ritual of putting up the outdoor Christmas lights, coming in for Birthday cake and warm (yet very liberally spiked drinks) and pulling out the Christmas tree, decorate tree, continue drinking and watch "White Christmas and sing along with Bing Crosby in my terrible “yes she’s drunk ‘cause she’s now tone deaf” voice.
It just did not make the right impression on me on a muggy, overcast and misting June day. Cold day yes, hot day NO!
