Smoky. Only word needed to describe this brew.

The aroma smells like campfire. This first steeping is the strongest, and it’s really in your face.

The taste is the same. Very smoky, like a campfire in the backyard. Wonderful smell, wonderful taste, but close to being overdone.

3rd steeping. Remembered to rinse again. Makes a big difference. Brighter, fresher in taste and aroma.

This one has a beautiful earthy, grassy aroma, leading to a clean, refreshing, earthy taste with hints of grass and nuts.

2nd steeping on the same leaves. I actually remembered to rinse them this time. It really freshened up the flavor. Light and fresh earthy and nutty aroma is more present, the taste is much cleaner both in the initial sip and the aftertaste. Very good tea!

Slightly smoky, with a strong presence of roasted nuts in the aroma lead to a wonderfully balanced tea. Just the right amount of bitter-ish bite balanced with an earthy, roasted nut, all combining to create a smooth, super drinkable Oolong.

I’m liking this white tea more and more as I keep brewing it. It’s got a complex taste, but in a simple, subtle way. It’s bright, clean, earthy, just plain refreshing. What a way to start the day!

2nd steeping for these leaves. My allergies are going crazy this morning, so I don’t notice much aroma, but I do get a touch of that earthy, woodsy feel. Taste is as wonderful as ever. Nice bright, nutty, earthy taste. I really love this tea!

This review is specifically for a batch of sun tea I made with this tea.

I used a loose leaf tea pod into about 4 quarts of water. I’m going to have to adjust that next time, probably to use two tea pods. It still had that earthy, nutty, woodsy aroma and taste, but it just wasn’t a prominent as I like. This tea might also be to subtle and light to make a good sun tea.

I used it because I had a lot of it and wanted to just try. It’s still good, just not as bold as I like my sun teas.

1st steeping on the 2nd time through. Subtle earthy, nutty aroma. Nice, bright, woody taste. I let it steep a little longer this time, it went about 3-4 minutes. It got a bit more bitter, but nothing overwhelming or brew-ruining. It’s just a bit more bold. Great simple white tea!

4th steeping. Aroma still there, just a bit more subtle. Coffee and woodsy, earthy, nutty scent still noticeable. The bold tastes of a few days ago have blended together more, and while each individual flavor is more subtle, the flavor all together is still bold and big.

Let it steep a little longer for the 3rd steeping of these leaves. Totally on purpose. Totally. That’s a lie, was reading the opinion page and forgot about it. It went around 4 minutes. Oh well.

The coffee aroma isn’t quite as strong as yesterday, not sure if that’s due to the longer steeping or the 3rd use of these leaves. Taste is a little more bitter, as expected. Still a great tea, still hints of smoke and earthy nuts. Have to remember the timer tomorrow morning.

That being said, screwing up the steeping time didn’t make this tea undrinkable. It’s still wonderful, and I’m still enjoying each sip. It’s that good!
