Another lovely tea from the great selection that DigniTea sent over. Thank you!
This is a thumping good Dian Hong, with a smooth chocolatey that is addictive. I’ve been rushing to finish the last two papers for my MA, so I haven’t had time for a proper Gong fu session in ages, but I am definitely saving the last of this for a Gong fu brew. Which is hard. Because it is delicious. I’m starting to type silly things here because I’m not feeling well, and it’s evening, which means that my temperature has probably spiked. But I do stand behind my original assessment of this tea – a delicious, smooth, seductive, chocolatey companion. Recommend.
Flavors: Chocolate
bah…alll gone. I’m struggling with my cupboard these days. A lot of my favourites are gone – not that i don’t have lots of teas but the ones i drink on a ergular basis need to be restocked. Except i’m not allowed to make purchases really, given that we need to focus on saving for the wedding. soooo sad day.
today is a holiday in canada for a lot of folks…which means for us, cleaning the house, trying to get outside and using it as a day for the two of us to catch up on things we haven’t had time to work on. It also means being able to drink a few more teas. Today i needed something delicious to kick off my day so i opted for this one. I really need to see if anyone’s written about 2015 harvest since i’ll be running out of this one soon and need to decide on 2014 or the 2015. I think the rest of the day is going to be a little bit of more new teas and finishing up a couple for some sipdowns :)
Let me know if you find out! I got a 2014 Spring and I like it a lot so far, but I haven’t compared it to the others I have. I should do that soon. Or just order the 2015 and do a side-by-side comparison of several versions. :D
must remember to hold off on a YS order until i get through the rest of this. If only to keep myself from placing an order for a little longer haha. I’m also trying to hold out for the 2015 teas to see how the harvest differ this year. I’m still hoping they’ll be more like 2013….
my other tea from this morning. Still amazing and delicious and wonderful. WTB autumn harvests already… lol i’m never as big a fan of spring harvests and i’ll have to restock this one eventually. Here’s hoping it lasts a little longer….
This is one of my favorite teas to steep Western style at my desk. I felt the Spring 2014 harvest was a little more flavorful than the 2013. Have not tried this in a Fall harvest yet. Will add a sample to my next order.
So the downside to loving this tea is that i am starting to slip in to hoarding mode this month…because i know that come the end of January i’ll be doing a final count and then start working my way down to 50 teas in my cupboard for the end of the year….in order to DO that i need to buy less tea, and drink everything in my cupboard. BUT because the dolllar is so terrible this year, i’m really going to be focusing on ordering from canadian tea companies whenever possible. and this is NOT one of those companies :( oh well…at least i have about 90g left… heh
so i totally had this again today. I came home today, to a package from omgsrsly and Bear With me… my cupboard is now exploded….84 to 114 in a day. Thankfully SOME are small samples, but there are a few i’ll have to share with other ppl…Looking forward to trying them as there are some wishlist teas (orange dolce yay!) in there as well as a restock of one of my favourite winter teas EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Final Count: 114
I was hoping you’d spread the West Coast love when I sent slightly obscene amounts ;) Let me know if there are any Janet’s ones you want more of and I’ll pick them up and ship ’em out for you in the new year :)
this was another tea from this morning, but Raritea came over for a visit so i was distracted for a while. today this is exceptionally chocolatey and delicious. such a fantastic cup of tea.
I am of the same opinion you are…sadly 2013 sold out before I could pick any up…so I just have the bag of 2014.
I have 2013. i bought it in March when new harvest wasnt available. we are always looking for fresh harvest to have the freshest tea but this kind of tea gets even better with age. on some sites specializing in Yancha the ones from 2011 or 2012 are more expensive than 2014.
I feel like there’s a part of my that is intent on finishing up the first package of this that i have so that i don’t have “extra” in my spare box. It’s the box where i put all the excess teas that are already out and ready to drink, for when i drink more down. Just incentive to get to the last of it i think lol. Still loving this one, though the 2013 was just a teeny bit more my favourite!
