I thought this was going to be a sipdown this morning, but it turns out there’s enough left for one more.
I will miss this tea when it’s gone. It reminds me of spending time with my baby sister at a stressful but exciting point in her life.
I really enjoy the vanilla and how it doesn’t overpower the green tea, nor does the tea overpower the vanilla. Nicely balanced.
I really did not want to get up this morning. It stormed during the night and woke me up. And our redheaded cat is bothered by storms so he was in the bed with us, which he never is. He wasn’t a bother, too much, but he was giving affection, which for him means licking bare skin when he sees it, and he has a really rough tongue. (I’d swear there’s a raw spot on my elbow from him.)
So this morning was tough. I probably could have used something with more caffeine, but I wanted something that was not a boiling water tea, so I went with green, and I thought this one sounded comforting and refreshing. It was.
Aww hope that your morning improves! Least tea is always a nice start to the morning! It’s a good motivator. :P
Marzipan, I thought about that when I searched for the tea to review it. Hahah! Too funny!
And so far my morning is better. I’m just a little out of it, but I’m drinking awesome teas and learning new things.
I have this tea all the time. I love it. This week it has been my drive to work tea most mornings. I am always surprised just how amazingly vanilla my carry mug smells when I go to rinse it out at night, because the vanilla is just comfortingly there with the green, never overpowering.
I didn’t finish my tea on the drive in this morning, so I’m finishing it at my desk. And I knocked over my carry mug. I guess it really was time to get rid of that stack of papers.
I’m going to keep writing tasting notes on this tea because I keep drinking it. Maybe someone else will get a chance to try it and there will be other tasting notes? Who knows? All I know is I like this one.
This was my morning tea today. I talked to my sister yesterday and this tea always will make me think of her since she is the one who had me try it. She was drinking this tea while I talked to her, actually.
I laughed so hard I just spit out my lunch.
I’m sorry. I will probably do the same thing from now on.
That’s too bad. I got it at a bookstore in North Carolina while I was visiting, but it was available on the website at that time. Maybe they’re just out. I hope they blend it again because it is just delicious.
I made up some of this in my carry mug and took it with me to Relay For Life yesterday. I’m really glad I did. It was a perfect tea for warming back up. I also love that in the carry mug I can smell the tea and taste it. (Of course, please don’t try to drink tea from the travel mug while the driver is accelerating. I wound up wearing a little bit of tea. (Not too much, but still.))
Enjoy seeing your & keychanges comments about the carry mug.. The two of you may well convince me I need one when I’m ready to carry hot tea w/me this Fall. :)
She’s the one that convinced me to get the carry mug in the first place. I resisted for a while, even though I was interested, but I’m so glad I did. Find a few Davids Teas that you like so you can get free shipping and just do it. It’s well worth it.
Right now I’m mainly drinking hot tea in the mornings and evenings and iced in the afternoon. I’m using my Tervis during the afternoon and limping along with my so/so travel mug until I’m ready to make the jump and order the carry mug. I’m hoping they have some new colors if I wait awhile. :)
I made this yesterday in my travel mug before heading out the door to see the moms. I like this better in a regular mug than my travel mug, because I can’t smell it that way, but it still tastes good. Drinking it will always remind me of a great day with my mom and sister.
And I saved the leaves ad resteeped them this morning. Still absolutely delicious.
I am just amazed at how much these leaves expand when steeped, too. I will probably have to get myself more next time I’m out visiting my sister, or maybe place an order on line because why not….
I’m visiting my sister in North Carolina for her thesis performance (she is getting her MFA in directing) and she took me to her favorite bookstore for her favorite tea.
I really liked it. It’s nice and green with great vanilla notes.
I liked it so much I bought myself some to bring home and some for my poor grad student sister.
My husband (I left him at home) still probably freak when he realizes I bought more tea.
