Hmmm I drank some of the green version of this tea today, and I have to say that one is a lot more accurate to the name. I didn’t include any marshmallows in the cup, but I don’t think that would have made a difference. It tastes kind of deep and roasted, maybe approaching caramel or brown sugar? It tastes good, but not at all like the name. In my second cup, I get a fair amount of smokiness. Thanks to amandastory516 for sharing!
Thanks so much to amandastory516 for this sample! This is perfectly minty. It’s so smooth and delicious. The oolong is the perfect base for this tea. I don’t taste a single hint of creme brulee, but the flavor is the loveliest light, creamy mint, so I’m not at all disappointed. I had it warm, and it’s perfection. I cold steeped a second round the next day, which was nice and minty too.
Sample from VariaTEA lots of those still kicking around because i want to be able to pay attention to them. This one was pretty good for a ginger tea. I think i over leafed the last cup a little and it was tasty. Sweet and spicy from the ginger. Made me miss Terriharplady as we often picked up a pumpkin ginger tea that i adored.
C is for…Cotton Candy
This one is so popular and I’m always disappointed by it. I actually really like the DAVIDsTEA version of Cotton Candy because that feel more accurate to me. This is more fruity sugar water. Like someone took Berry sugar crystals and dumped them into my cup…with one waxy piece of fruit. It’s fine but I definitely prefer other Cotton Candy teas to this – probably for the best since Necessiteas is such a pain to get ahold of.
This one was a little disappointing because it mostly tasted like apples, but sort of sour and not great apples. With milk and sugar, I could almost imagine the peanut butter, but it was a bit of a stretch. I did a long second steep, which actually tasted better than the first and closer to what it’s supposed to be. Cold was definitely better than warm as well. I prefer DavidsTea’s take on this flavor profile. But thanks to amandastory516 for letting me try it!
Thanks to amandastory516 for this sample! I get a lot of dried banana in the flavor, which is quite fun. I also get a desserty flavor underneath. I don’t think it quite accomplishes the fluffernutter vision, but I definitely enjoy it with some milk. I didn’t include any marshmallows in my cup, but it still has some creaminess, which I enjoyed. The rebrew is strong and lovely as well. I’d consider purchasing this one.
Thanks to amandastory516 for sharing this tea! Hot, it tasted like absolutely nothing. I probably should have overleafed it, based on the content of this tea. Cold, the flavor really comes out and tastes pretty good. It definitely captures the sweetness and artificial taste of cotton candy, but it does it in a pleasant way. They could have gone even harder with the flavoring, but I thought they did a good job.
Thanks to amandastory516 for this sample! I removed the marshmallows before steeping, but even so, it tastes pretty sugary and marshmallowy. Really, it doesn’t taste how I remember peeps tasting, but it does taste decent. There’s something artificial in there (which works for peeps) that isn’t 100% enjoyable, but I like it enough. I’m having it with milk, which I think makes it better. The second steep tasted the same as the first.
