Tea of Life

Still as tasty on the second steeping as it was on the first!

I had to be a bit more gentle with making this cup of tea than I’m used to. Because of the gentle care I had to take to infuse this tea, I was worried that the flavor wouldn’t be much of a pay off. Taking the first sip of tea, however, I can see that I had nothing to worry about.

I won’t lie, I got this tin at T.J Maxx, mainly for the pretty tin that it came in. Don’t judge me. When I got the deal home, I started to worry about the actual quality of the tea I had bought. I didn’t want a flavorless cup of tea, so I allowed the tea bag to infuse for thirty seconds longer than the instructions told me to. Tasting it, I can see that I probably could have gotten away with just letting it infuse for the two minutes that the instructions said to do..

I was afraid that it would taste gross, artificial, but drinking it gives you a good blast of white tea and, as the title suggests, pomegranate.

Unlike the last two cups of tea I ended up dumping down the sink, this tea doesn’t need a sweetener to make it drinkable. No; even though I am sure that it would enhance the already yummy flavor, it is still great to drink as is, freshly infused.

I’m not the biggest fan of white tea, but I still love this tea. I think I would enjoy tasting this brand’s other Ceylon teas as well, and it was a great idea, after all, to buy the tea and not just the cool tin it came in.

Mint taste is not overwelming – it’s just right. Love it!

At first, I thought this would be a strange combination, but after trying it, I have definitely changed my mind! It’s mild with lovely hints of both pumpkin and melon and is more than enough to take the winter chill away. The bag also allows you to use it more than once, which is always a plus!

Additional notes: I’ve tried this tea bag before.. it was terrible but I kind of assumed it was ancient (it was from a long ago tea box — nothing to do with Steepster.) This tea bag is from a different tea box actually (also nothing to do with Steepster), and it is MUCH better. There is a ton of flavor here and it is interesting that the last time I thought it tasted like plain water. I guess it shows it definitely matters how old tea is! And it keeps my worry alive that I might not be giving some teas a fair chance just because I’m not sure how old any of the teas that didn’t start with me actually are. I’m upping the rating for this poor tea bag that no one else has even rated yet!

I’m guessing this is a black tea and I’m also guessing it isn’t supposed to taste like water? It doesn’t even have a scent. There was one sip towards the bottom that tasted less like water, but then it was gone. It’s like the tea with one sip of flavor!

Very nice! My sister actually found this at Marschall’s of all places. Weird. At any rate, I love a good white tea, and the pomegranate was not at all too sweet, as I’ve experienced in the past with other pomegranate flavored teas. Seemed a waste to only steep it for the recommended one to two minutes, so I went a bit longer. Then I just added a bit of sweetener and went to town!

1 pyramid sachet to 250mL water.

Competent blends, but nothing special. The Organge Spice cloys. All need an exceptionally long steep to bring out any flavour. Really, really, overpackaged; each pytamid is wrapped in cardboard (like Tea Forte) and then slotted in its own plastic compartment. Saving the cardboard (!) pyramid sleeves for my daughter to organize Legos in. Makes a pretty-looking gift, but there are better rooiboses and rooibos blends out there, with far less packaging.

Good for iced tea – light and refreshing. Don’t think I’d like it as much warm.

I was not fond of this. I’ve definitely have better orange flavors.

Black and something very green-ish flavored, but very anticlimactic. Not good or bad.

Steeped for 3 minutes. Lightly sweetened. Just right, the fruit isn’t overpowering.

Really hit the spot at a stressful mid afternoon with the strong fragrance and smooth flavor.

Indoor weekend errands, white light coming in from outside. Stack of magazines, writing a letter, buying stamps, finally putting together a calendar for the year.

Fuzzy head from last night’s festivities call for tea over coffee this morning ;)

Steeped in a new (very silly) mug that my mother sent me. Perfect with toast + cherry preserves! Sometimes I like pretending that I’m in a Murakami book.
