Strangely enough one of my local Bed, Bath, and Beyond stores has a relatively good tea section when compared to the average American supermarket. This was part of a twelve pack with three different types of flowering teas. The orange and honey flavors are on the mild side with the taste of the green tea still somewhat evident. I wasn’t paying attention to the time but I’m guessing I steeped this for about 4 minutes.

Preparation
SSTTB take 1!
I missed out last year due to my busted ankle, so I’m stoked this time ’round!
This is my first blooming tea, and I’m about 3 pots in and it’s finally all the way open and pretty! I need a bigger tea pot….or more people to drink the tea, haha!
I feel like I could have safely used hotter water (not quite boiling, but hotter than my usual 175 for green teas) because even with the 3 steeps being long ones, there’s not really any bitterness. But ho boy is the jasmine punchy! Yum!
Definitely not the highest quality, but it’d be a great one to have on-hand for entertaining purposes because it is so mild, not to mention pretty. I’d pull it out to serve at a wine or fondue night with friends for sure, because I think that even the non-tea people would appreciate it.
Now I REALLY have to pee, hahaha!
Flavors: Jasmine
This made a pretty bloom, but unfortunately, this is not the connoisseur’s tea. The teas in the primula line have been subpar so far, but are beautiful when they bloom. This would make for a nice afternoon tea to sip, but it has a bit of a strange taste and does not bode well cup after cup. Others (and so does the package) have claimed that the tea does well in subsequent steeps, but unfortunately it doesn’t become any better, but it doesn’t get any worse in taste after the first steep, maybe more diluted is all.
Preparation
bloom is very pretty, but primula’s flowering teas just, quite frankly, are not very good. they’re more jasmine than green tea, take forever to steep, and really cannot be re-steeped, even though the company claims that they can. if the jasmine didn’t make the tea taste old it wouldn’t be as bad, but honestly I wouldn’t buy their flowering teas again.
Make a dish of this tonight…yes, a DISH! Well, it was more like a bowl! A glass bowl and it bloomed beautifully! The jasmine aroma and green tea really filled up my kitchen. The taste was alright. Not wonderful but ok. The draw is the experience of the bloom and the surprise inside.
I have had different tasting experiences with many blooming teas but many have tasted the same they are a piece of art tho! indeed!
